Christopher Hitchens was loud and certain and wicked smart and rapier funny.
I probably agreed with him more than I disagreed. But probably not by much.
He was an important voice.
I know I’ll miss him…

This is the first post about Hitchen’s passing that I resonate with. Either people have lambasted him, or put him on a pedastel. But like you, I probably disagreed or was angered as much as I agreed with him, particularly in the last 20 years. Yet, he was incredibly smart and articulate, passionate, and drank entirely too much. I will miss him too. I think his passion was something I resonated with. To feel so deeply about something, to love something so deeply (or in his case, often, to dislike so intensely). Thanks for your few but powerful words, James.
