More information about Kansas City Oasis as taken from their press release:

Oasis is an innovative community where freethinkers have a safe place to learn, celebrate life, find social support, and give back to the community.

Oasis is a retreat, of sorts, for the secular community, including (but not limited to) Agnostics, Humanists, Skeptics, Atheists, Freethinkers, Deists, questioning Theists and more. The mission is to bring like-minded individuals and families together in a compassionate environment, to celebrate the human experience, and to feel inspired and empowered…

The community comes together for coffee, live music and program every Sunday morning to discuss real-world principles supported by evidence and free thought, grounded in reason. Because Oasis is family-focused, children are also given the opportunity to explore developing worldviews, ask questions and make friends in an environment that’s supportive of critical thinking.

KC Oasis is Kansas City’s first alternative to faith-based communities, offering a community of compassion and reason to come together to celebrate the human experience. It’s a place where life is celebrated, family is valued, and all people matter. For more information, visit KCOasis.org, visit us on Facebook, or follow us on Twitter.
