The Shack Heaven

The Shack Heaven June 6, 2011

This is an older cartoon I did when The Shack first came out. Lisa wanted to read it so she got it. I wasn’t interested. But then she advised me to read it and I did. I enjoyed it. It softened my hardened heart. It opened up my mind again, which had locked itself in as a defense mechanism against a predictably cruel world, to appreciate, embrace and praise the Mystery. It moved me at a time when I was immovable.

I couldn’t figure out what the fuss over the book was all about. It’s just a story. A novel. It is not a theological text book. However, I believe it acted like a good theological text in that it challenged the status quo and presented another way of looking at things.

This guy is surprised. And shouldn’t he be? And shouldn’t we all be?
