So true. Except people usually claim He’s there because of the dynamic new preacher, new worship set, new add-on to the building, etc. They don’t come out and say it, but you get the sense that those things make it the place to be and that God is truly in the place! Reminds me very much of the Old Testament and idol worship that the Israelites engaged in.

I’m going to try and work on my novels. If the fricking world would leave me alone. I asked for one day and one friend was so pissed off she deleted me on FB but, oh she’ll add me back in Monday…???? Wtf?!?! Seriously tempted not to add her back if she does this, because I called her out on the manipulation she was trying. But I’m the selfish one! Grrrr

We will be doing our fellowship service tonight in a community hall, we were doing it at our church for seven years, but we got kicked out, because we wern`t getting the people to go to the sunday morning service. Our service is an outreach to the community, for people who have been hurt by church in the past, non believers, people who are feel they are outcasts, etc.We run with no budget, all the offering goes to a need in the community, tonight its going to a senior that lost everything in a house fire. We give our offering based on need, not on their religious affilation. There are no flashy light shows, or trendy rock bands, just struggling people sharing what gifts they have, and encouraging one another.

I am going to Barnes and Noble with my daughter today. Is that wrong?

I have to laugh or else I cry!

Yeah – a lot of church is like that isn’t it? Or people following prominent leaders like fans following pop/rock stars.Following the “lively worship” and / or “good” teaching.

“Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine.Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.” 2 Tim 4:2-3

I stopped going about 2 years ago, and feel much better for it! I love our local car boot sale on a Sunday morning – you get to chat to all the regulars, and we’ve made some good friends. Community – surely that’s what Christianity is all about?

I got booted out of my chosen church (for being queer) and tried shopping around. Now, like Dorothy, I have found there is no place like home.
