Dogs are faithful and serve. They are a suitable metaphor for a church member.

Cats are fickle and are served. They are a suitable metaphor for a church member.

So perhaps we and the church are made for each other.

Or we are the same thing. You can’t point at one without pointing at the other.

True – that’s something we as westerners can possibly learn from an eastern worldview, that what can seem like paradoxes to us, other are content to sit with.

Sounds like my marriage! A perfect ying and yang, although not always (hardly ever) harmonious :-)

This sermon discusses how we Lutherans are ‘cat’ theologians:

    It’s pretty good (methinks, anyhow).

I especially like the joke about cats and dogs on the back cover:
A dog says, “You pet me, you feed me, you shelter me, you love me; you must be God.”
A cat says, “You pet me, you feed me, you shelter me, you love me; I must be God.”

LOL! The moderator of my old church used to say that her job was a lot like herding cats! =^..^=
