Quoting Quiverfull: Summer of 2013?

by Jay Younts of Shepherd Press

If you have taught your children to honor and obey God, be assured that your instruction will be assaulted by education, government, and the entertainment culture. If your children value marriage they will be assaulted by these same institutions. More and more those who believe that sex is to be the exclusive blessing of marriage as defined by Scripture are seen as social misfits who are filled with hate.

You may think this language is a little on the extreme side. To verify these concerns ask your school board or local government if they would encourage young people in your community to believe that sex is designed by God exclusively for marriage. The response will be everything from “well, that’s a nice idea but we can’t go that far” to outrage that anyone could be so intolerant to offer such a suggestion in the 21st century. Both answers are equally offensive to God.

This is what the summer of 2013 holds for your children.

The thing is, there is nothing wrong with believing that. The issue is when you believe it’s your duty to make everyone else believe that and if you fail in forcing everyone to do it your way, the world is all wrong.

Jay, if I can offer you advice: Be careful what you say when you try to speak for God.
Jews believe (and it make sense to me, they have known the 10 commandments in their own language since it was written) that the third commandment – taking His name in vain – is not about swearing, but about not pretending to speak for God when He did not, in fact, speak.

They will be exposed to evil stuff like facts, don’t worry parent, there are plenty of “Christian” resources filled with miraculous magic that turns facts into “theories” or liberal propaganda.

“If your children value marriage they will be assaulted by these same institutions. ”
Your child will be assaulted by the marriage clerk? What? Oh right, the fact that undesirables can get married makes marriage invalid.

“More and more those who believe that sex is to be the exclusive blessing of marriage as defined by Scripture are seen as social misfits who are filled with hate.”

Oh right, persecution… yeah they can have all the Biblical sex they want, but the fact that they can’t force others to do the same just kinda ruins everything. Oh and promoting sex as being exclusively in marriage and then banning marriage for some of us, nothing hateful there.

Why do I have the feeling that he’d denounce those who interpret the word of G-d differently from him? Forcing beliefs in others and calling different interpretations wrong leads to hard feeling all around.

Ask government agencies that legally cannot endorse any religion if they think kids should be taught religion. And when they say no, cry about how you’re persecuted and everyone is out to get you.

It must suck SO MUCH to have to respect the rights of people that disagree with you. Truly, the world hates Christians.

    This. This so much.

The whole idea that if you aren’t allowed to use force of law to compel everyone around to mirror your beliefs and live according to the rules you want to set up for them, you are somehow being persecuted is as goofy as it gets.
