NLQ friend and partner site Recovery From Religion is launching their long anticipated Hotline. The Hotline Project will be available 24 hours a day for those struggling with the emotional turmoil of leaving their faith. Here’s what Recovery From Religion has to say on their site about the project:
The process of leaving religion might not be an overnight experience, as many of you know, but did you know that many of the calls for help we get are between 3:00 and 5:00 in the morning? Recovering from Religion receives countless emails and phone calls from people seeking help on their journey away from faith, at all hours of the day and night, and we want to help everyone who contacts us. Through our Hotline Project, we will offer 24/7 national, regional, and local resources – a secular support network people can utilize in their most urgent time of need.
The mission of the Hotline Project is to provide a real-time peer support network for people questioning the role of religion in their lives, dealing with the negative impact of religion in their lives, or anyone who has friends or relatives facing these transitions. The hotline offers a unique avenue for callers to share and explore their thoughts, feelings, and perspectives while providing them with immediate, anonymous, confidential, and compassionate support combined with relevant resource referrals.
This is a much needed resource in the world of religious journeys. Simply knowing that there is help available is a big help to those on their journey out of a cult-like faith. Please consider supporting this project with your donations of time and funding. Information on volunteering or donating is available on their website – Recovery From Religion. If this is your first time visiting NLQ please read our Welcome page and our Comment Policy!
