by Michael Pearl from No Greater Joy magazine – Prophecy, Preparation, and Panic
Editor’s note: I’m sharing this because most of the people I know that are still either in the Quiverfull movement or are still hardcore evangelical or fundamentalist Christians are carrying on about the return of Christ and the end of the world occurring sometime between Sept. 15 and Sep. 23. Just a few weeks away. Even Charisma News is getting in on the end of the world bandwagon with this article. Too bad the writer doesn’t seem to realize that the day he’s predicting that the US stock market will crash is a Sunday and the market does not do active trading on Sundays. But we all know facts never stopped a Fundamentalist from martyrbating and imagining the Rapture.
But of course Michael uses this fear to immediately jump on the put someone else down for not doing their Christianity like he does his. He’s claiming most Christians who are busy drooling over the end of the world are busy aiding the Anti-Christ. Oh please!
In the last five years or so there has been a revival of interest in Bible prophecy. Even the economists are getting in on the apocalyptic predictions. I have never known Christians to be filled with such foreboding and consternation. I am not a time setter for the rapture of the church, but I do see clear signs of the coming of antichrist. Never have Jews and Christians been so in agreement on the soon coming of Messiah to save Israel. The Jews are looking for a man of war who will establish a lasting peace, elevating Israel to a place of prominence—the exact ministry of antichrist. Christians are caught up in the fervor and are assisting the Jews to receive the fake Christ when he comes.
