NLQ Question of the Week: Why Cherry-Pick the Bible? January 19, 2017

The questions are things that people who may not know much about the Quiverfull movement or even Fundamentalist or Evangelical Christianity ask about the lifestyle. Examining some of the questions involving Quiverfull theology and life can only shine a light on the toxic nature of this lifestyle choice.

The last few days of looking at the claims of Sarah Faith Schlissel over the ownership of daughters by their fathers brings up a common thing in Quiverfull, Evangelical and Fundamentalist Christianity. That the scriptures used to support such a radical extreme view are plucked out of context and used to justify abuse. If, as they claim, they believe that the entire Bible is one hundred percent true then why cherry pick it to justify extreme positions?
