Editor’s note: Unquoted is the bit where Lori claims everyone in America really wants a return to traditional gender roles and that birth control must be ended. If that’s not enslavement, oppression and demeaning women by forcing them to birth a pile of babies they aren’t emotionally, socially, or financially prepared for then I don’t know what is. This election was not determined by a rejection of feminism, it was that there were two bad candidates and America went with the bad candidate that they don’t know for sure what he’ll do. The devil you don’t know.
According to the New York Times feminists lost with this last election and the entire piece was trying to figure out why. These sentences caught my eye: “You didn’t hear explicit calls for women to stay at home and be subservient to men, although it’s an open question how many Americans are receptive to questioning traditional gender roles. Many who care about the place of women in American society are gripped by fears that men will have a free pass to demean women at home or in the workplace, that women’s health, economic society and reproductive rights will be dealt severe blows.”
Coming back to the comment in the article, do you see how irrational the fears are that they portray? They fear men will have a free pass to demean women at home and in the workplace! Feminists still are in control of the Universities and the media. It’s not feminists who have kept women from being demeaned. In fact, it has grown worse in this country as feminism becomes more influential and society gets farther and farther away from God’s principles. When men are taught biblical principles of kindness, godliness, and love of others is when they do not demean women. There’s nothing feminism can do (making laws) to stop men from demeaning women. As a society spirals into depravity, the worse men and women become. Feminism is a huge part of this downfall.
