Quoting Quiverfull: Bragging About Messy Homes? March 30, 2017

Editor’s note: Has someone been openly bragging about having a messy home? I’ve not seen that anywhere. Show me where this is, Lori, or shut up about it. What I have seen is women agonizing over being pulled too many directions at once, leading them to leave things undone and feeling guilty about it. Lori makes a lot of demands about clean homes for someone that had paid help.

Just like in her book Lori orders women to have an immaculate home, does not say how that is to happen while you’re spending hours upon hours cooking from scratch and homeschooling every day. She orders you to declutter without one suggestion how to do it. As a lame substitute towards the end of the piece she provides a link on how to make your own cleansers. So useless and unnecessary. She could have provides real ideas, but it more invested in just telling people to stop being so selfish and clean immediately. Reminded of the Red Queen in β€˜Alice in Wonderland’ ordering her knaves to paint all the roses red to please her.

Women brag about messy homes today because they have β€œmore important” things to do. They need β€œme time” and time to pursue their hobbies. They need to play with their children often and take them many places for different experiences while neglecting their home duties. These are all considered badges of honor and praised. I see it consistently in younger women while having a clean and tidy home is mocked, as if it’s not important. God thinks it’s important. This is why He commands that women be β€œkeepers at home” and work hard in their home by NOT eating the bread of idleness.

God is a God of beauty and order and our homes should reflect this, women.

Way too many women have no idea how to keep clean and tidy homes anymore.

Clean homes are more peaceful. Cluttered homes mean cluttered minds. Declutter your homes! It’s almost impossible to keep a home clean and tidy with a lot of clutter. My oldest daughter has moved a lot in her six years of marriage but they both like it because it keeps them from gathering too much junk. They are ruthless when it comes to decluttering. They love to have a home that is clean, tidy, and uncluttered. I love these kinds of homes, along with some beautiful daffodils to brighten them up!
