Quoting Quiverfull: Prophets Can Be Recognized By Their Jerk Behavior? April 29, 2017

jerkby Lori Alexander from The Transformed Wife – What is the Gift of Prophecy?

Editor’s note: We’ve quoted Lori Alexander many times this week and we’ve done it because she’s been spouting some particularly abusive nonsense lately. There is nothing I’d like better than to not quote her. But when you throw rocks at other female cultural enforcers, and try to promote other ministries like the doings of Michael β€œLet’s Beat The Children” Pearl and Bill β€œLet’s Grope The Teenaged Girls -Grabby Hands” Gothard you’ve gone pretty far away from the teachings of Jesus. Notice this entire article is about two main points a) women trying to be prophetic is wrong, and b) prophets are allowed to act like complete sphincters to everyone else because God. Please, please someone pry that ancient copy of Webster’s dictionary and the King James Bible from her hands before she seriously harms someone with this drivel.

Many today have a β€œnew” word or revelation from God as if God speaks directly to them. It seems to be especially prevalent among women preachers/teachers/authors and many Christian woman as if His Word isn’t enough for them apparently. Women, who are more easily deceived, seem to be very prone to this. They want to β€œfeel” close to Jesus and be able to communicate with Him by hearing His voice. Everything we need for life and godliness are in His Word.

The gift of prophecy is clearly spelled out in His Word: β€œBut he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort” (1 Corinthians 14:3). Men and women can have this gift. Here is a great explanation of a person who has the gift of prophecy from the Institute of Basic Life Principles web site. If you have the gift of prophecy, this is a great source to study and know clearly your strengths and weaknesses so you can work on your strengths and rid yourself of your weaknesses. My favorite preachers are those who are gifted with prophecy since I love to clearly know right from wrong, good from evil.

A prophet’s basic motivational drive is to apply the Word of God to a situation so that sin is exposed and relationships are restored. Prophets might be considered the β€œtrumpets” of the Body of Christ whosound the alarm in the face of sin and compromise.

Now this song by the Book of Mormon isn’t about prophets, but it is about how clueless, pushy and crass people trying to convert strangers can be…

You want to reach people for your church? Don’t be a jerk, even if you are a prophet!

QUOTING QUIVERFULL is a regular feature of NLQ – we present the actual words of noted Quiverfull leaders, cultural enforcers and those that seek to keep women submitted to men and ask our readers: What do you think? Agree? Disagree? This is the place to state your opinion. Please, let’s keep it respectful – but at the same time, we encourage readers to examine the ideas of Quiverfull and Spiritual Abuse honestly and thoughtfully.
