Encouraging Your Husband – Part 4 Dress to Please

Encouraging Your Husband – Part 4 Dress to Please August 17, 2017

EncouragingThis same commenter of Nancy Campbell’s is now trying to equate dressing like your husband likes is IMPORTANT!! If Queen Esther had been schlepping around in sweats the Jews would have died according to her.

This is a series looking at the marriage advice given in Nancy Campbell’s book β€˜How to Encourage Your Husband’.

While packing for a move I have turned up are books, terrible idiotic books filled with toxic advice. One of those books is by Nancy Campbell of Above Rubies β€˜How to Encourage Your Husband’. I think I ended up with this book in the aftermath of leaving my old church, given to me by one of my former friends that thought it would β€˜help’ my marriage since in her eyes my husband leaving our old church meant that I wasn’t doing my job of wife well enough. Reading through this book now I cannot help but laugh at some of the suggestions. The book is entirely written by commenters and comments from Nancy Campbell’s website.

Dress With Purpose

Honoring your husband by dressing pleasantly for him is not a trivial matter! Queen Esther saved her whole nation because she presented herself in a beautiful and dignified way before her husband. The king offered her up to half his kingdom, he was so pleased with her. Taking time for several minutes a day to honor your husband is not much compared to a full year Esther spent in beauty preparation. Esther 3:17 says she obtained grace and favor before the king. Verse 16 tells how he even proclaimed a holiday in her name. Do you think the king would have been so willing to grant her desire and save Esther’ people if she appeared before him as so many of us appear before our husbands every night?

Dressing just for him also shows our children we respect and esteem our husband. My children are used to my daily transformation now. At first, they often asked if I were going out when they saw me come out of the bathroom looking much improved. I used these opportunities to tell them how much I loved their Daddy and how I wanted to look pretty for him.
