Tell Everyone Else What to Wear?

Tell Everyone Else What to Wear? April 24, 2018

This isn’t another pious pontificating posting by The Transformed Wife’s Lori Alexander ordering others to wear wholesale. This is an illustration of what happens when you go all buttinski and think you have the right to tell everyone else what to wear, one person at a time.

During that recent post on β€˜Harlots’ and wearing cheaper, looser, longer clothing Lori herself answered a commenter who was asking Lori for advice on how to tell individual women that they were dressed immodestly.

I seriously doubt that most women give much of a thought to attracting male attention when they get dressed in the morning. Sure, some might, but that is likely not the main motivation for clothing oneself. There’s nothing wrong with dressing in a way that makes you feel attractive.

How is any of this the business of GT or anyone else? Offended by the clothing choices of someone else? Advert your eyes. No one said you had to gawk.

That’s because…… drum roll please…. IT’S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS! Nowhere in the Bible does it say that Jesus wants you to go out there and tell other women what to wear, or to judge them about their choices!

There have been people that cross my path that I’ve been tempted to say something about the state of their dress. One an elderly lady in a tube top dress with the top ruched down so far it was barely hanging off her nipples, and someone that used to go to a mainstream church I attended in shorts cut so low everyone could see her butt crack. But I resisted even if I thought both were not appropriate. Not. My. Business. Better to just remember not to wear those things yourself out in public and move on. Grant grace, take a deep breath and move on.

Evangelicalism, Quiverfull, Fundamentalism of any religion does not give you the right to rush about like you’re the Simon Cowell of clothing judges. It’s just not that important.
