Does Lori Alexander Fit the Jezebel Profile?

Does Lori Alexander Fit the Jezebel Profile? May 20, 2018

Currently I am reading a very interesting book – American Jezebel -The Uncommon Life of Anne Hutchinson, the Woman Who Defied the Puritans – about Puritan Anne Hutchinson, who was accused of teaching women and others ideas that run counter to most of the established Puritan theology instead of staying silent. Here’s a description of the book from Amazon’s page –

β€œIn 1637, Anne Hutchinson, a forty-six-year-old midwife who was pregnant with her sixteenth child, stood before forty male judges of the Massachusetts General Court, charged with heresy and sedition. In a time when women could not vote, hold public office, or teach outside the home, the charismatic Hutchinson wielded remarkable political power. Her unconventional ideas had attracted a following of prominent citizens eager for social reform. Hutchinson defended herself brilliantly, but the judges, faced with a perceived threat to public order, banished her for behaving in a manner β€œnot comely for [her] sex.”

Reading through I’ve been thinking about Lori Alexander and her claims that she’s called by God to teach women. She has only a small amount in common with Anne Hutchinson. Lo and behold Lori herself pops up this morning writing about the classic idea of β€˜Jezebels’. Read a very little of her description and tell me if you think it might possibly fit Lori.

There is more, but these give me pause. How many times have we seen her husband Ken have to go into some place like the message board Free Jinger and other sites discussing Lori’s writings to tell everyone off? What do you think?
