When I read Doug Wilson’s spiritual and moral game of Twister on his blog Blog and Mablog I sometimes envy him his blatant stupidity. It must be a comfortable world to only see things in super simplistic binary terms. A wrong world, but a place where you aren’t challenged, and you don’t grow in understanding. No straining your brain trying to make sense of the beautiful madness that is life.
Here Doug says that discrimination is not a bad thing. Only partially true at best. It’s good to be able to determine a spoiled fish from a fresh one, or the best buy among a number of items. That’s a profitable skill. But when you apply the same discrimination against human beings who are different than you it’s an awful idea. No matter how Doug wraps it in a Bible verse.
Doug goes on to use this sick line of black and white thinking to put down feminism and pine for the good old days of Jim Crow. This man is a respected pastor? I don’t see how.
