Preparing To Be A Help Meet: The King Part 3

queenjane

by Mel cross posted from her blog When Cows and Kids CollideSo much toxicity in FOUR paragraphs.   "A good King sees the bigger picture and strives to help the greatest number, even if it costs him his life and the lives of those he loves."  Remember in the Gospel where Jesus throws Peter in front of the guards who came to arrest him?  Or the time Jesus made it out of the temple after challenging the money-changers by blaming his brothers? Don't remember those?  Me either.  That's because Jesus NEVER sacrificed the lives of those he loved. Let's compare Debi's take with some quotes from the Catechism of the Catholic Church: … [Read more...]

Quoting Quiverfull: Duggar Family Compared Abortion to Slavery?

standtruerape

This one is from a Korean gossip site but it appears to be true. Visited the Duggar Instagram site and sure enough, they are using an offensive graphic linking abortion to slavery. Cannot copy the graphic so I'm just linking to it on their Instagram. It's from a Pro Life site called StandTrueDotCom, which is linked to Operation Rescue and run by prominent pro-lifer Bryan Kemper from Ohio. The graphics at the site are pretty over the top and we'll be posting a number of them at the end of this post. From KPopStarz.com - '19 Kids and Counting' Duggar Family Compares Abortion to Slavery on Instagram: Twitter Users Outrage, Jessa Duggar Retweets to Support … [Read more...]

Quoting Quiverfull: God Will Use the Ebola Outbreak to Cleanse Away Non-Believers?

plague

spoken by Rick Wiles of the End Times Radio Show. From  Right Wing Watch - 'Ebola Could Solve America's Problems With Atheism and Homosexuality'(Editor's note: It's pretty obvious from what Rick said that he has no real knowledge on how Ebola spreads and the plans the CDC has to treat anyone coming down with the disease in the USA. He is thinking this is going to be a pandemic on the level with the Black Plague. Ebola is not airborne, it can only be spread via exposure to bodily fluids. It's not wrong to be concerned about Ebola in our country, but it is pretty wrong to fear-monger and hope it kills off those that don't agree with you.) … [Read more...]

Quoting Quiverfull: Respect Your Husband Above All Else?

i respect my husband

from the blog The Respected Husband - Marriage Instructions: Roles and Responsibilities Before we move on to the responsibilities of the husband, I want to end this section by sharing a statement from David Platt, “Your respect for your husband is not based on his performance but is based on God’s call and command in your life as his wife. Revere Christ through submission to your husbands. Respect them. Honor them. Build them up. That’s God’s responsibility for wives. … [Read more...]

Apostate: Preface

apostate

by Lana Hope cross posted from her blog Wide Open Ground(Editor's note: Kevin Swanson is still promoting this book at least two or three times per broadcast nearly a year after publication. Wondering how the sales figures stack up against his other books. He's running it at half off right now.) I’m going to walk through the problems in several chapters in Kevin Swanson’s book Apostate. So I’ll start with the preface and an introduction to the author. Kevin Swanson, who studied engineering in the university, is a homeschool dad who documents the breakdown of the Christian faith in the western world on his podcast Generation with Vision. On his podcast, he’s been mocking the bloggers and … [Read more...]

Quoting Quiverfull: Gynos are all Perverts?

pervert

by Steve L. Anderson of Faithful Word Baptist Church on the blog Ramblings of Sheldon and his own church websiteI have to wonder if he has revised his view of male doctors and male gynecologists after his and his wife Zsuzsanna's recent experiences with male doctors during their medical crisis with Twin To Twin Transfusion Syndrome? His wife was treated by male doctors who also practice gynecology. Does that make his wife's doctors perverts? Do they know he considers them perverts but treated his wife anyway? Very confusing. … [Read more...]

News: Clean Religious Version of “Fifty Shades of Grey”?

oldfashioned

According to E! Online the Christian world is firing back at the perceived smut-fest that is "Fifty Shades of Grey" with their own film on love. It's being released to theaters on the same day as "Fifty Shades", Valentine's Day 2015 and it's titled "Old Fashioned" and is about old fashioned love and romance. I guess this means there will not be any black leather and bondage.E! Online: There is a Clean, Religious Version of "Fifty Shades of Grey" Hitting Theaters at the Same Time … [Read more...]

News: Child Evangelism Fellowship Preaching to Kids at Parks and Pools

Goodnewsclub

It looks like the "Good News Club" run by Child Evangelism Fellowship is training and organizing to proselytize to children specifically in Portland, Oregon parks and pools and in other communities without the consent of those children's parents.  Turns out the Supreme Court has ruled that this  group's activity on school grounds is legal, so it goes without saying that they are allowed to approach children in parks and other public places children gather.Last year our own Vyckie Garrison wrote an excellent examination of what Child Evangelism Fellowship is all about - Large Family Christian Homeschooling and Child Evangelism Fellowship that dovetails nicely with what Raw Story and The Ne … [Read more...]

Quoting Quiverfull: What Do Kids Really Need?

mothergoose

by Kelly Crawford of Ladies Against Feminism and Generation Cedar - You Have Too Many Children to Give Them What They NeedSomewhere along the line, we created an imaginary set of rules about what kids need  for healthy development and if you’ll listen closely, you’ll hear it: “To love my children is to buy them things.” Suffice it to say, if love equals providing material comforts,  American children are the most well-loved children in the world. Ironically, they also suffer the most from narcissism, ingratitude, and a grandiose sense of entitlement. Those are the children we created attempting to “give them what they need.”  We said, essentially, though no parent would admit it, “Let me … [Read more...]

Quoting Quiverfull: Marriage is More Important Than College or Discovering Who You Are?

hera

by Kelly Crawford posted both at Ladies Against Feminism and her blog Generation Cedar - 5 Things People Think About Marriage and Growing Up That Are Wrong College and becoming who you want to be and discovering yourself and your career should be much more important than getting married and tying yourself down to a commitment when the discovery of yourself has not yet been found. College is a time for individuals to discover themselves and find their paths in life. Marriage would greatly inhibit this. You cannot grow with another person until you fully know yourself. I am doubtful that anyone ranging from the ages 18-23 has fully found themselves yet. (Comment left here on the blog.) … [Read more...]
