A Letter From Two Weak, Pathetic Men at Patrick Henry College

by Bruce Gerencser cross posted from his blog The Way Forward As I have shared before, Evangelical young men are taught that they are weak, pathetic creatures easily led astray by mere exposure to too much female flesh. Instead of being taught to own and control their sexuality, they whine, moan, and complain about women “tempting” them to sin. Well, the moaning part is them masturbating after seeing too much female flesh. This is the fault of women too. Let me give an example of this kind of thinking. Yesterday, Homeschooler’s Anonymous published a 2006 letter written by two Patrick Henry College (PHC) male students to the female students of the college. For those not familiar with PHC, it i … [Read more...]

Quoting Quiverfull: Modesty Was ‘God’s Idea’?

by Tony Reinke in John Piper's blog Desiring God - Is Feminine Modesty About Sex?Men and women serve each other here. A godly Christian man refuses to treat women as objects of lust, humanizes them, and shows respect to his sisters in Christ as fellow heirs (Romans 8:17). A Christian woman, modestly dressed, serves her brothers in Christ, honors her husband (1 Peter 3:1–6), and removes an unnecessary obstruction from her testimony of personal godliness in society and the church (1 Timothy 2:8–15). Whether or not men are also called to a standard of modesty in fashion is a relatively new conversation in the church, and one we need to think through together in the future. But what we do kn … [Read more...]

Quoting Quiverfull: If You’re Living and Breathing You’re Making Some Man Stumble?

by unknown from Go Tell My People - A Letter to my Daughter: Aroused by the Skin of my Wife The more “right” your figure is, the more careful you have to be. And you are a poor judge as to what is “right”. Those breasts or those hips you think are “too big” or “gross”, and positively hate, are the very things that will turn on a man. And again, you are a poor judge to determine how big is too big. That is because there is virtually no female set of hips, ample as they may be, that will not cause a man’s heart to pitter-patter, especially when draped over with a soft clingy fabric. And how beautiful, if that is the man’s wife. But what if she isn’t? She becomes a snare and a fiery dart in the … [Read more...]

Quoting Quiverfull: Fashion Leads to Lust?

by Stephanus Blignaut from Go Tell My People - Modesty: Discouraging Lust and Encouraging Godliness Women are so easily caught up in “what everyone is doing” or what is available in the shops and what is promoted in magazines and TV. They don’t think about how their body is portrayed and what it causes in men – the stumbling block it becomes for men. Women condemn lust in a man when they see it but somehow they don’t make the connection between the condemnable lust and their own clothes that they are wearing. Not realizing this makes them stand guilty before God as a stumbling stone because of the lust they caused. … [Read more...]

News: Jack Schaap Trying To Squirm Out Of Sentence

Now Jack Schaap is claiming that he was improperly represented by his legal staff at his trial for violation of the Mann Act and sex with an underaged girl. Schaap is claiming his attorneys promised him a sentence of no more than ten years, yet the judge gave him twelve years. It was fully within the rights of the judge to decide the length of the sentence regardless of what prosecutors  or defense team members asked for as a sentence. … [Read more...]

by Marjorie Holsten from The Raw Story - Homeschooling Expert: Sex Ed is a Liberal Plot Make Kids Watch Guinea Pigs do it Instead “People say to me, why would they teach such awful things to our children?” she remarked. “If you go deep down and you connect those dots, you see that when children are desensitized to sexual things, that affects their ability at a later date to bond with a spouse.” … [Read more...]
