Createdtoneed

by Aletha cross posted from her blog Yllom Mormonpgs 44-46 We're still on Chapter 4, where Michael tells men why they need women. Here is the link list of previous installments. So far, we've established that women need to be needed; it's the man's job to sanctify his wife; and it's the woman's job to be her husband's moral compass. More about that compass today. Text is in purple.I Need Her Morality and Conscience It is well known that the women are the moral anchors of any society. When the ladies become depraved, families perish and society disintegrates. Men are less introspective and better able to ignore their consciences than are women. Wives and mothers are created with a … [Read more...]

Quoting Quiverfull: Women Need Micro-Managing From Their Husbands?

by Cane Caldo from Things that We have Heard and Known - Cold Service is the Revenge Dish of VanityEditor's note: Remember that disgraceful guy who had all the photos of scantly clad teenagers at his site Is This Modest? - Minthegap / Adam Gregorian? If you recall he had a pile of Mens Rights buddies we quoted, some of whom have done like Gregorian did to his almost porn Modesty site and pulled down their blogs after being confronted. Here's some of the most disgusting misogyny from a man in the church we've seen in a long time. He makes Michael Pearl seem gentle. Trigger warning if you go to his blog, this posting is all about denigrating a woman in distress who is trying to work … [Read more...]

Quoting Quiverfull: Secular Men Don’t Take Any Responsibility?

manlymen

by Kelly Crawford from Generation Cedar - Raising Boys Into Men: Tend The FieldKelly sincerely believes only Christian guys are 'Take Charge'. Too bad in reality it seems many 'Good Christian Men' are either bullies/tin plated dictators or apathetic blame shifters. There doesn't seem to be many guys between those two toxic polar opposites in the church.  Another false charge laid at the feet of feminism by Kelly. Just like women, men are all different and run the gamut of 'types' Saying that a religious dogma makes men superior to others without the same beliefs is short-sided, childish and insulting to all men. Talk about man hating. … [Read more...]

Not Quoting Quiverfull: Financial Abuse

together

There's a type of spousal abuse that we're not spoken of here at NLQ -  Financial Abuse. What is financial abuse? It's when a partner controls the money of the household so tightly that there isn't any or enough given over to meet the basic needs of the other partner and/or children. By controlling all of the family finances the controlling partner puts the other under their complete control, even if there is no physical or verbal abuse this is also now considered spousal abuse.Huffington Post did a story recently on financial abuse filled with horrifying tales of what some women have had to live through before escaping their controlling partners. … [Read more...]

by Suzanne Titkemeyer cross posted from her blog True Love Doesn't RapeHoly Sex The Way God Intended by Michael PearlI had no intention of reading and reviewing another book considering I'm way behind on reviewing both “A Love That Multiples” by Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar and the book by the Duggar daughters, “Growing Up Duggar”. Lately I've been approached about doing book reviews for various folks uninvolved with NLQ and my reviews of the Duggar products has slipped to the back burner. After looking at the Pearls author page on Amazon.com on Memorial Day afternoon I saw that Michael (Woman do it MY way!) Pearl had written a book on sex. As much as the idea of Michael Pearl havin … [Read more...]

by Michael Pearl from No Greater Joy - Six Ways Parents Destroy Their Children Without TryingLeaving them to choose their friends. Many parents have done a good job in training their young children, and have put them on a path of virtue, but in their early teens they are influenced by their peers and yield to temptation while knowing it is not the right path. Even well trained children are flesh and are capable of falling into sin—just as is a moral, disciplined adult. … [Read more...]

by Michael Pearl in No Greater Joy Magazine - Who Defines Your Children? I see the kids coming out of the homes and public schools of our country, their lives predetermined by their self-image. Whether they are eighteen and cool, or twenty-eight and divorced, or thirty-eight, broke and on welfare, voting democratic, hoping to get ahead in life someday, maybe win the lottery, or on … [Read more...]

TTUAC: Immediate Obedience or Death

by Libby Anne cross posted from her blog Love, Joy, FeminismTo Train Up A Child, pp. 3—4 “WHOA, HORSE”We live in a horse and buggy community where someone is always training a new horse. When you get into a buggy to go down a narrow, winding state highway filled with eighteen-wheelers and logging trucks, you must have a totally submissive horse. You cannot depend on whipping it into submission. One mistake, and the young men are again making several new pine boxes and digging six-foot deep holes in the orchard. … [Read more...]
