creepy-church-252x166

by Calulu The most popular post here at NLQ isn't necessarily a Quiverfull story but one that examines how the Independent Baptist Churches and pastors seem to have a problem with a high percentage of their leadership straying into sexual abuse of women and children. It named two known IFB pastors that ended up … [Read more...]

The Incredible Helplessness of Men: Lust Edition

lust

by Sierra (Editorial note: I went into Sierra's blog to get a few of her The Sexuality Project posts to reblog here at NLQ and ran across this. Why I Find Perverse Pleasure in the Sexual Peccadilloes of Evangelical Leaders

by Bruce Gerencser I am quite indifferent to the sexual peccadillos of others. What consenting adults do sexually is none of my business. I think so-called sexual “sins” like adultery and fornication find their foundation in the Bible and I reject the Bible as a moral or ethical standard. We are sexual creatures. Desiring to have sex is as much a part of who we are as eating and drinking. Sexual activity, regardless of orientation, is normal and it not surprising when sexual activity overflows the banks of the Christian moral river. It doesn’t surprise me that Dinesh D’Souza had sex with a woman other than his wife. Recent reports say that not only was D’Souza committing … [Read more...]

Millipede Part 23

split

by Millipede The moment of truth came one Saturday night. No surprises there. Of course, my husband had decided to have something to drink. Even though the any possible seizure would not occur until the following day, a 400+ pound man could get into a lot of trouble if he fell of his chair during a nodding phase. Plus, who knows, this time the seizure might come earlier. Things were going well as expected. The slurring had started just a bit and my husband nodded off only once. off had. My husband mixed another drink which he said would be his last of the night. I watched with relief as he finished the cup. We had … [Read more...]

Pornography and the Fundy

winkwink

by Calulu (Warning, possibly triggering and some of the links are of the not safe for work variety.) Recently I started thinking about pornography. Not that I was partaking it in, it's never done anything for me. I might as well be looking at a pile of rutabagas or dirty socks. It is what it is, but it never did much to make me experience sexual feelings of excitement. But then again, I did grow up in New Orleans, with its capacious amounts of ever present sex shops, hookers, strip clubs and just general debauchery. I was jaded about such things by the age of eighteen and have never viewed them as erotic in any way. Plus I understand the Feminist views on pornography objectifying … [Read more...]
