Quoting Quiverfull: Newer Translations of the Bible Promote “Feminist Agenda”?

by Steven L. Anderson of Faithful Word Baptist Church - NLT and the Message Promote "Equality in Marriage" I saw an article that someone posted about marriage that said this:They may quote Scripture and sound super-spiritual, but behind the façade of husbandly authority is deep insecurity and pride that can morph into spiritual abuse. First Peter 3:7 commands husbands to treat their wives as equals. … [Read more...]

by R. C. Sproul Jr. from  Highland Ministries - They Labor In Vain, Or a Funny Thing Happened While I Preached My Daughter's Wedding Just a few days ago I was privileged to be able to preach at a rather significant occasion, the wedding ceremony of my first-born. Darby was, like her mother, not just a beautiful and radiant bride, but a diligent, faithful laborer in bringing the event together. When I told her I would like to preach from Psalm 127 I could tell she was a smidge reluctant to give her approval. Nightline Prime and Purity Balls

by Samantha Field cross posted from her blog Defeating The Dragons I’ve seen a few documentaries about “Purity Balls” (which, every time I say that, my partner sniggers and I glare at him), and some are better than others. ABC’s Nightline Prime 20-minute documentary of the Wilson’s “14th Annual Father-Daughter Purity Ball” is not one of the better ones. The interviewer seemed to be either amused or baffled, and the only questions featured during the program seem to indicate a lack of awareness of what the underlying culture is– although she seemed to be catching on toward the end. … [Read more...]
