NLQ Question of the Week – The Blood Moon, the Pope & Wishing For the End of the World?

Questionoftheweek

This is a new series we have started running on Thursdays. Examining some of the questions involving long held Quiverfull theology and life.In this past week we've seen many fundamentalist and evangelical Christians, not all of them quiverfull, saying some rather strange conspiracy theory type things over the 'Blood Moon' that will be happening on the 28th. Yesterday, the 23rd, was supposed to be a day of disaster with an asteroid hitting earth and ushering in the End Times. There's been talk of demonic riots in Europe being part of this End Times and lots of conspiracy theories and complaining about the Pope. … [Read more...]

Quoting Quiverfull: Christians Are Aiding The Coming The Anti-Christ?

quotingquiverfull

by Michael Pearl from No Greater Joy magazine - Prophecy, Preparation, and PanicEditor's note: I'm sharing this because most of the people I know that are still either in the Quiverfull movement or are still hardcore evangelical or fundamentalist Christians are carrying on about the return of Christ and the end of the world occurring sometime between Sept. 15 and Sep. 23. Just a few weeks away. Even Charisma News is getting in on the end of the world bandwagon with this article. Too bad the writer doesn't seem to realize that the day he's predicting that the US stock market will crash is a Sunday and the market does not do active trading on Sundays. But we all know facts never stopped a … [Read more...]

Quoting Quiverfull: Which One of Us Has Cognitive Dissonance Here?

quotingquiverfull

by Author Unknown from Simple Unhooked Living - RFID: Where The Rubber Meets The Christian RoadEditor's note: Found this blog through it being quoted by Ladies Against Feminism in support of no childhood vaccinations and no big government interference into home-based businesses they love so much. While sustainable living isn't necessarily a bad thing, in fact it might be the thing our nation needs more of, the conspiracy theories at this site range from laughable to downright frightening. This bit quoted come from a rant about how the RFID implantable chips are the Mark of the Beast, the "666" mentioned in the Bible ushering in the End Times. We all know how much the QF crowd loves to … [Read more...]

by Michael Pearl from No Greater Joy - How to Survive the Coming Apocalypse Part 2: Pre-Wrath Rapture? Zombies, Earthquakes & Scorching HeatSkipping the first letter and bit of this because it's all Michael knocking down the writings of some other author about the apocalypse they all keep martyrbating over...of course Michael is not going to allow some other patriarch to be right..Again Michael's take on the end of the world starts with a fake letter: … [Read more...]

Seven Signs of Spiritual Abuse

jonestown

by Boze Herrington cross posted from his blog The Talking Llama(Please welcome Boze to NLQ and the Spiritual Abuse Survivor Blogs Network! He's an awesome addition!)For about five years during and after college I was trapped in a dangerous Charismatic religious community. Living in a spiritually abusive environment is like a nightmare that you can’t wake out of. It can be hard to tell right from wrong, left from right. The people you trust the most could betray you at … [Read more...]

by Zsuzsanna Anderson of Faithful Word Baptist Church and Are They All Yours blog -  Q & A Answers Part 2Growing up, I was taught the pre-trib rapture. After looking at scripture with my husband, I've come to realize how false it is. I can see why people want to believe in in because knowing my children may live through terrible persecution scares me when I allow myself to think about it. How do you deal with this? Just not think about it? … [Read more...]

Fearing God at The End of the World

End of the World

“The remarkable thing about God is that when you fear God, you fear nothing else, whereas if you do not fear God, you fear everything else.” ― Oswald Chambersby Vyckie GarrisonEven though I'm 99.9% sure that December 21, 2012 is not the Last Day, I'm having an End of the World party at my house tomorrow night. To tell the truth, I am a little afraid - not that the world will end, but that life goes on and I have relatively little control over whatever the future might hold for me and my family. As most readers at No Longer Quivering know, I no longer count myself among the God-fearing faithful. When I was a Believer, I honestly thought that I was fearless - not that there was no … [Read more...]
