News: Rusty Yates Thinks State of Texas Was Cruel to Andrea Yates

news

Remember the Andrea Yates story fourteen years ago? If you don't recall it Andrea Yates was a Quiverfull mother who was suffering from post-partum psychosis and killed all five of her children. Everyone around her knew she was significantly mentally ill to the point where her doctor didn't think she should have more children, yet did very little to get her real help. Her husband quietly divorced her two years after the trial, remarried and continued on with his Quiverfull lifestyle by having even more children.Oprah's series "Where Are They Now?" caught up with Rusty and he had this to say about his thoughts on Andrea's trial. … [Read more...]

Quoting Quiverfull: Throwing Shade on Korea, ISIS and Abortion Because Jesus?

quotingquiverfull

by Colin Campbell from Meat For Men - Mourning Over What Grieves ChristEditor's note: Colin is in rare form in this post. He manages to order others to mourn for things, claims to know what makes Jesus mourn and manages to be racist, paranoid anti-government and blaming of others in four short paragraphs. That takes talent! (/sarcasm). Seriously, there a whole lot of judging, blaming and shaming in his words. Is it really necessary to say those things to ask others to do more intercessory prayer? … [Read more...]

Quoting Quiverfull: Women Need Micro-Managing From Their Husbands?

quotingquiverfull

by Cane Caldo from Things that We have Heard and Known - Cold Service is the Revenge Dish of VanityEditor's note: Remember that disgraceful guy who had all the photos of scantly clad teenagers at his site Is This Modest? - Minthegap / Adam Gregorian? If you recall he had a pile of Mens Rights buddies we quoted, some of whom have done like Gregorian did to his almost porn Modesty site and pulled down their blogs after being confronted. Here's some of the most disgusting misogyny from a man in the church we've seen in a long time. He makes Michael Pearl seem gentle. Trigger warning if you go to his blog, this posting is all about denigrating a woman in distress who is trying to work … [Read more...]

More from Arkansas Matters.com . What follows below is a jaw dropping list of various allegations. After reading this please consider signing the Change.org petition calling for Justin Harris to step down from his political seat - Resign For Your Actions In Re-Homing Your Adoptive Daughters. Quoting Quiverfull: Quiverfull Making Martyrs Out Of Mothers?

quotingquiverfull

by Steven Ertelt from Life News - No  Greater Love: Putting the life of her unborn baby first; mother dies after giving birthEditor's note: Life News uses the death of a woman who from all accounts wasn't Quiverfull to make a point about how good Christian mothers are supposed to carry pregnancies that will end their lives to the end, no matter what the doctors advise. They are canonizing the dead women Suzanne Mazzola as an example to be looked up to instead of a woman who took a risk and paid the price. It was her decision and her's alone to make, but typically Life News ignores that. If they had their way that decision would be made in advance for all women. … [Read more...]

quotingquiverfull

by Debi Pearl from No Greater Joy - Obsessions Editor's note: We'll be sharing this article in bits and pieces over the next few days since so much of it is so sheerly awful. It's one of the clearest examples of an over bearing husband's crummy behavior in the world of Christian Patriarch Movement and is rife with abusive behavior and explaining/minimizing that same behavior. Today Debi explains about Michael's hunting of those wascally wabbits and what happened in the aftermath of his hunting she had to deal with. … [Read more...]

A Film That Helps Us Understand Why Pearl Becomes Appealing: How do parents get caught up in extreme practices?

Image from Cindy Kunsman - Under Much Grace

by Cindy Kunsman cross posted from her blog Under Much GraceA few years ago, I attended a professional conference that dealt with addiction which featured John Bradshaw as one of the speakers. I didn't like his old PBS series on codependency and families, but in recent years, I've found his lectures and books enlightening. He points out well, much like Alice Miller does, that corporal punishment in particular destroys critical thinking and makes a person ripe for manipulation. In a talk, much of which referred back to his own history of abuse, he ended up mentioningFocus on the Family and Richard Fugate as examples of ideologues who recommend abusive practices in their books. I approa … [Read more...]

Quoting Quiverfull: Part 2 – Don’t Leave Abusive Husband Ever?

quotingquiverfull

by Michael Pearl from No Greater Joy - Abusive HusbandEditor's note: Today Michael adds his thoughts on abuse and leaving. Not any better than his wife's unfortunately. Trigger warning: This might make you sick to your stomach. Don't say I didn't warn you.  This type of advice is harmful to implement in an abusive marriage and is likely to encourage additional abuse. … [Read more...]
