Preparing To Be A Help Meet: Part 2 The Wedding

Image by Mel "A small wedding is hard to pull off with 23 aunts/uncles + 50 first cousins on the bride's side"

by Mel cross posted from her blog When Cows and Kids CollideDebi gives us a rundown on how she felt about Yetta's wedding. Yetta is interviewed later in the chapter, but Debi gets her two-cents in first - with plenty of incorrect verb tenses, misspelled words, and floating commas. Here is what one wise young woman did for her non-stress (sic), joyful wedding. When I attend (sic) Yetta's wedding, I was struck with its personal style and sheer simplicity. It was clear that everyone, including the bride and groom, was relaxed and having a good time. The people attending will look back to this wedding and think, "Wasn't it wonderful? They looked so happy." … [Read more...]

Preparing

by Mel cross posted from her blog When Cows and Kids CollideI've found two different types of toxic views in reading CP literature. The more common toxicity is "Do this or really bad things will happen to you!" Debi has given us plenty of these examples so far. This chapter is a different type of toxic. This is the "Do this and life will be magical!" toxicity.Personally, I think the second type is more pernicious than the first. With the first, once you've done the forbidden action, you can figure out pretty quickly if the predicted bad outcome happens. The second type, though, is hard to disprove because life isn't always magical. … [Read more...]

by Mel cross posted from her blog When Cows and Kids CollideDo you think Debi believes in confidentiality or getting permission before using a story from someone else's life?I work very diligently to either get permission before sharing a story -especially a potentially embarrassing story - OR remove any details that could possibly be used to trace the original person. … [Read more...]

by Mel cross posted from her blog When Cows and Kids Collide(Trigger Warning for abusive church behaviors.)Ever wonder if Debi would pull her punches on friends? She doesn't. When a "friend" has the audacity to get a divorce from an abusive husband AND marry a different man, Debi spews out the massive misinformation created by a conspiracy to destroy the woman's magazine.I know it sounds crazy...but the information is a matter of public record since the woman and her second husband were brave enough to sue. … [Read more...]

Preparing To Be A Help Meet: Part 4 – Antsy Babies

Does Debi realize in her putting down of 'whirlwind romances' and William Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet' that it wasn't an impatient Juliet throwing herself unbidden at Romeo, but an almost stalker-like Romeo recklessly pursuing Juliet.

by Mel cross posted from her blog When Cows and Kids CollideAt the end of the chapter, Debi starts muddling the message again. She's got a difficult balancing act to pull off. If a girl chases a guy, she'll end up married to a pervert. If a girl is too aloof, she'll end up alone - which is the end of world in DebiLand. … [Read more...]

by Mel cross posted from her blog When Cows and Kids CollideThis next made-up story case is a hoot. Debi bites off more than she can chew when she tries to mix "online matchmaking" with a morality tale. Case #2: An Old Antsy Babe A mature, older woman had been single for a number of years. She decided to try an online matchmaking site to find a match. I went online in my late twenties to get more experience dating and eventually find a partner. … [Read more...]

Preparing To Be A Help Meet: Part 2 Antsy Babies

On "Game of Thrones" Sansa Stark knelt before King Joffrey and humbly begged him to spare her father. Joffery still beheaded Ned.

by Mel cross posted from her blog When Cows and Kids CollideToday, we learn how a girl can ask a guy to marry her without being 'antsy'. If a girl were wise she would know that to demand is to take the lead. If you lead your husband into the relationship you will lead him thereafter. Proverbs 8:11 "For wisdom is better than rubies: and all the things that may be desired are not compared to it." Remember, women leading men bring on the end of the world (/sarcasm). … [Read more...]

The only type of acceptable King Cry Baby, unlike those Priestly-Kingly or other dudes/duds Debi pushes as Mr. Right

by Mel cross posted from her blog When Cows and Kids CollideHey, new chapter! Perhaps Debi will finally let us in on what "antsy" means. I know I've been waiting on bated breath for the definition of such an uncommon word. Moral to the Story: Patience is crucial. Even when a little pressure is kind, polite, and thoughtful, it is still taking control. Debi has explained the main problem of the role of women in the CP world: Avoiding "taking control" from men trumps thoughtful, kind and polite words or actions. … [Read more...]

shorthairedbride

by Mel cross posted from her blog When Cows and Kids CollideWell, the rest of the chapter is incoherent, mean-spirited and generally rude. In other words, classic Pearl wisdom. Generally, men like their girls to be informed and ready to give an opinion when asked. I agree with the major exception that women don't need to wait to be asked for an opinion. Don't ever let anyone silence you. Don't be a dingbat spending all your time on clothes and hair. That is shallow and temporal. Some men like their ladies well dressed and sharp, but that wears old in a few years. The mixed message on looks continues. So, look good, but don't spend time on looking good. (How does that work?) … [Read more...]
