Quoting Quiverfull: Defending Jessa’s ‘Holocaust’ Statement?

by Jessa Duggar's soon-to-be father in law Michael Seewald - Jessa Duggar Slammed By Hitler's DoppelgangersApparently Jill Filipovic at Cosmopolitan magazine online took offense at Jessa Duggar's parrotting of her father's view on of abortion and the disgraceful comparison of abortion to the Holocaust. She wrote a response - Jessa Duggar Compares Holocaust to Abortion - a thoughtful, measured and reasoned response to the simplistic views of Miss Duggar. … [Read more...]

Quoting Quiverfull: Jessa Duggar and the Holocaust

jessagoodwill

Have been avoiding posting this on NLQ because it's so disgraceful, displaying a lack of knowledge, historical perspective or understanding on the part of Jessa Duggar. Plus, I hate giving space to any one in the Christian Patriarch Movement that violates Godwin's Law, making their arguments invalid by referencing Nazis, Hitler or the Holocaust. But it keeps popping up on all sorts of sites and links. … [Read more...]

Quoting Quiverfull: Did The Duggar Modesty-Scale Change?

Old school Duggars with no makeup and lots of cloth on.

If memory serves me correctly in the early days of the Duggar family television specials makeup was distinctly frowned up, but if the US Weekly article is anything to go by that has changed as well as many other things. Remember when Michelle and all the girls wore those loose sack-like jumpers with huge 'countenance-enhancing' collars? But then again, many Evangelical women I knew (including myself) once dressed like that. It was the uniform of the Good Christian Woman(tm) at one time.Below is a list of Duggar rules on dress from US Weekly Magazine Issue 1025 October 6, 2014 – The Duggars Rules of Romance … [Read more...]

News: Jim Bob Duggar’s Rules Apply Even To Married Duggars

usmagazine

by Suzanne TitkemeyerMore Duggars in the media this week. Both Jill Duggar Dillard and Jessa Duggar are on the cover of US Weekly and they're talking about the expectations of their father carrying over into their entire lives. Very ridiculous rules considering his adult children are just that, adults, capable of making their own rules and knowing their own minds. So what are these rules? … [Read more...]

“19 Kids & Counting” Duggar Fans Got Trolled

michellejimbob

by Suzanne Titkemeyer cross posted from her blog True Love Doesn't RapeWe've written and posted too many times here at NLQ about TLC's Duggar family, the stars of "19 Kids & Counting".  You can almost tell how well or not so well the show is doing in the ratings and when the premiere of the new season is by the flood of Duggar family related news/gossip that floods the internet. 'The Duggars stop for bagels!' or 'The Duggar Family says all drag queens need Jesus!' Ridiculous minutia everywhere to keep people talking about the show and the Duggars so all that sweet, sweet cash will keep coming on in like manna to TLC and the Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar compound.Last season there … [Read more...]

News: Ben Seewald and Jessa Duggar’s Wedding Registry

According to E! Online they are asking for things like a $139.39 hair straightener and a massaging foot bath. From E! - Our Twelve Favorite Items … [Read more...]

News: Ben Seewald Moves Onto The Duggar Compound

jessasewald

According to both People magazine and CDN the four hour courting commute between Hot Springs, Arkansas and Tontitown, Arkansas is too much for Jessa's fiance Ben Seewald. So he's leaving his business, his college and his parents to move in with the Duggars.Interesting development and one that seems more likely to be geared toward providing new content for the television show. Ben Seewald is moving to the Duggar homestead, where his courtship with Jessa can be captured for the TLC show, 19 Kids and Counting. Isn't Ben the one that had his own established business in Hot Springs?  Guess this was more important than continuing on in his own business. Does this mean that Ben will e … [Read more...]

Quoting Quiverfull: Chivalry is Important?

Brienne Maid of Tarth and Jaime Lannister - always squabbling over who holds the sword and stands in front of who.

by Jana, Jill, Jessa and Jinger Duggar from their book "Growing Up Duggar" From page 136 - 137: It warms our hearts when we're around young men, including our brothers, who are courteous and quick to practice the fine old art of gentlemanly chivalry. Some women these days think that allowing men to help them with anything makes them appear weak, and they refuse to take a man's hand to help them down a step or object to a man's offer to help them carry a heavy love. However, a gentleman's courtesy is not about women being weak or strong; it's about men needing to be men. Gentlemanly behavior is cultivated as they learn to serve others and treat ladies as ladies.  We encourage these e … [Read more...]
