Forgive me, but it is necessary

Forgive me, but it is necessary May 5, 2015

In antebellum America, abolitionists got a bad rap.

They were called extremists.  They were criticized for bringing up their issue over and over, not letting it rest.  They were excoriated for bringing “politics” (the message that slaveholding is a sin) into the church.  Do these charges sound familiar?

They were also criticized for painting pictures of real events in slaves’ lives, such as children being torn from parents at a slave auction.  Harriet Beecher Stowe was said to be tasteless and crude for depicting in graphic detail the suffering of slaves in her Uncle Tom’s Cabin.

“Forgive us,” the abolitionists said, “but it is necessary.”  People will not wake up to the evils in their midst unless they see the shocking realities for what they are.

So too today.  Certain elements of our culture are pushing for a view of sexuality that would shock people if they knew what it is.  They are supported by Planned Parenthood, an organization thought to be among “the good guys” by our elite culture.

What is the shocking element?  Advocacy of children’s “sexual rights.”  That might sound innocent to some.  But what it masks is pederasty, the sexual exploitation of young boys and girls by adults.

Read this disturbing account by Jean Lloyd, who at one time called herself a lesbian.  She was at a conference for sex researchers, who think they themselves are among the good guys who will save the rest of us from our hangups.

We will survive.  But not the children whom they exploit, all the while crowing about their hapless victims’ liberation.
