Summer Solstice 2011

Each day is a new opportunity to bring into balance our spiritual, physical, and intellectual being. (Staff of Asclepius "Winter Solstice 2010: A complete picture of three worlds.")Six months later, our world enters a tilt where the northern hemisphere receives maximum hours of sunlight during the Summer Solstice. There is a saying that life … [Read more...]

Why You're Affected by McCollum v. CDCR (California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation)

Patrick McCollum and legal advisors released a nine page response to the denial of their employment discrimination case.“The employment discrimination ruling is especially disturbing and is one that all religious people should be worried about, not only Pagans. It creates precedent that gives the state the power to discriminate on the basis of religion for chaplain jobs, for example chaplains in prisons, hospitals, the veterans’ administration, and the military. The court ruled that the state c … [Read more...]

The Healing Power of Gaming

Bare with me as I indulge in the glories of Geekdom. A new mega gamer has risen above thousands of players to practically beat a console game. Peru doesn't offer many opportunities for the disabled so he's been keeping busy gaming … [Read more...]

Bradlee Dean, pastor of the Old Path Church of Minneapolis, delivered a rant disguised as an opening prayer. As a sign of respect for all religious traditions most guest clergy at a legislative assembly offer a non-denominational prayer. Dean makes it very obvious that he believes non-denominational means Christian sects only.VIDEO: Bradlee … [Read more...]

I'm excited to announce that I am employed at a local library which tickles me pink. I work with incredibly kind and intelligent people. I got a high five for reading the Louis and Clark expedition journal and I'm told that interlibrary loan packages that arrive from the Library of Congress are treated with reverence. The employees gather around the package to see the label and watch it being opened. Take a moment to imagine my smile of shear happy Geekdom.Posts will be in frequent as my body, … [Read more...]
