What the kids have been up to

Ms Action 5 1/2: "Mom, when I get big someday I am going to go to the dealership and get a Dodge Ram. They have really sweet engines, you should check them out. Then we could use it to haul stuff to the dump."Other cars on her list of vehicles to acquire include: GMC Sierra, Mini Cooper, Honda Civic, a snow plough attachment for her pick-ups, a Toyota Camry, and an Orange Chrysler Sebring Convertible. I had to look some of these up to figure out what she was talking about. I was moping around on the computer and heard a suspicious clunk-splash noise coming from the bathroom, where Mr Punk is in the habit of flushing toys.  So instead of getting up I yelled “Hey! Did someone leave the ba … [Read more...]

Taking a break…

Call it a blogging fast, call it a computer fast, but I am going to be gone for a little bit. I'm not sure how long I will need. A day, a week, I don't know. But when everything on the computer starts to feel angering or depressing, I know it's time for me to take a break.  It is going to be a hot week anyways, which means my ancient computer will be overheating and shutting itself off after 20 minutes of use, which would just piss me off even more! Eventually you start to feel like you've banged your head against the brick wall long enough, and it's time to go out in the sun.I'm sure it won't last forever. I still love to write. I have a list of post ideas and several … [Read more...]

Random Blurbs

I have lots of posts in the works, and some that are ready to post next week, including a post on weaning and a first time ever guest post from my Hunnie. I am also hoping to get back to my ongoing Gentle Discipline series. But for now I decided to end a light week with a little post of the odds and ends that don’t quite make up an entire blog post on their own.Public TransitWe’ve been cutting down on the use of our car to save gas. My Hunnie has been walking to school every day and I tried out the bus for the first time. I almost fell over when the bus driver floored it before I put my money in the box. In fact that whole first ride was confusing, the driver was a woman on a mission and she … [Read more...]

And the Kids keep on Growing

Ms Action is 5 years old now. She loves directing things and has become best friends since moving with the little 5 year old boy next store. They play together almost every day outside. She has also declared herself big enough for showers now, and insists on doing it herself. Recently, she pointed out our front window at the older lady who lives across the street and gasped “Mom! That lady is a smoker who steals cars!” I stopped my laugh before it made it past my lips and asked “How do you know?” and she explained that her little friend from next door had told her. So we talked about how a rumor is a story that people spread about someone that may not be true, and I pointed out that if this n … [Read more...]

Unwrapping the Onion: Introduction

I am about to publish the most intensely vulnerable series I have ever written. This will explain the rest of my journey. This is the part of our story I have not been free to tell yet, not safe to tell yet.The final puzzle piece.I know that many of my readers will not understand or agree with my situation or choices. This series may confuse you, it may anger you. I want you to know I will not take that personally. I am not looking to "convert" people or change someone's mind, I'm not looking for support. I just ask that you hear me.I am not trying to hurt anyone or attack any group. But I understand that many of you will be upset and many of you will unfollow and unfriend … [Read more...]

Moving Update

We made it through the move and we are settling in. I'm not sure when things will be calm enough for me to resume blogging again, but rest assured I will be back, hopefully in the next few weeks. I have several posts burning in my brain just begging to be written and published. I miss reading all your blogs and chatting with you! … [Read more...]
