Lazy Saturday on the Links

Lazy Saturday on the Links February 6, 2016

I think there’s been enough seriousness for the week. Therefore, I have curated a tiny collection of fun, uplifting happiness for you this morning. I’m coming to see these Saturdays as my gift to my Online Community. Sure, I blog compulsively six days a week, garbaging up the Internet with an impossible to keep up with flow of words, but on the seventh day, a day of sabbath rest, I provide you with other people’s stuff. It’s got to be a moment of sheer bliss for you, or something. Of course, if you’re on the internet all the time anyway, you will have seen all these already, but maybe they weren’t all in one place. And maybe I should stop blathering on and just show my hand.

In the mad world of adult coloring, here is the pinnacle of human existence. I know it’s an incredible short coming, but I must confess that I don’t really enjoy coloring. I like watching children color, but if I have a free hand, which I never do, I’d much rather, how do you say it, scroll through the Internet. There, I’ve said it. Let the outrage roll forth in its usual outrageous stream.

Saved this, long ago and only just now got around to reading it. It’s brilliant. It’s an article as thrilling as a happy baby dancing through a golden meadow. No wait, that’s terrible. Let me try again. It’s as funny as a meme laden Facebook thread..oh never mind. I’m terrible at this. Just go read it.

Here is an oldie and a goodie, which I love and could watch over and over, especially after having seen Star Wars. I like to begin to watch this when children or crying, or when I know I should be making a phone call, or when I’m just generally not able to cope with reality.

Here is a pretty funny video [Language Warning! Trigger Warning! Artsplain Warning!] that I only really enjoyed so much because on Fridays we pull pictures out of my gorgeous Art Box and try to talk about them and then copy them. I always struggle desperately for language to talk about art anyway, but words fail me when a lot of kids are demanding to know why the big yellow square is as famous as Van Gogh and I usually just make something up. What do I know? I’m not an artist. Anyway, super funny video.

And finally, to elevate and lift, as you prepare your mind and heart for Sunday, or whatever it is that you’re doing, two brilliant ensembles walk into a bar and you’ll never guess what happens.

So there you are. Have a lovely day if you’ve a mind to. Pip pip.
