Christian theocracy on the rise: Trump cabinet Bible study leader Ralph Drollinger makes plans to “Christianize” government officials.
Ralph Drollinger, the leader of the controversial, taxpayer funded, weekly Bible studies being held at the White House, and attended by top government officials, is making plans to aggressively expand conservative Christian efforts to proselytize to government officials at the federal and local levels, according to a recent report issued by Right Wing Watch.
Drollinger, leader of Capitol Ministries, is a controversial figure with strong anti-woman, anti-gay, and anti-Catholic views. Writing for Fusion, Brendan O’Connor notes:
Drollinger has variously proclaimed that Catholicism is “the world’s largest false religion,” that female legislators who continue working after having children are sinners, and that homosexuality is an “abomination.” He has also written that social welfare programs are un-Christian. “It is safe to say that God is a Capitalist,” Drollinger once wrote, “not a Communist.”
Right Wing Watch reports:
Drollinger teaches that God only hears the prayers of Christians, that Christians in government have an obligation to only hire other Christians, and that social welfare programs are un-Christian.
Drollinger also teaches that the Bible does not permit women to teach men.
Raw Story explains that Pastor Drollinger is dedicated to “making disciples of Christ in the Capitol” and spreading Christian fundamentalism among U.S. leaders.
Drollinger teaches that there is one “absolutely critical preeminent duty of the Church in an institutionally separated society: to convert the soul and disciple—Christianize—the leaders of the State and its citizenry.”
Right Wing Watch reports Drollinger’s Capitol Ministries recently held their first meeting of “Global Directors” at the newly-opened Museum of the Bible. In anticipation of the secretive event, Drollinger reported that “speakers will include several U.S. White House Cabinet Members, Senators and Representatives.”
Drollinger’s weekly, hour-long “Cabinet Member Bible Study” is well attended by prominent members of the Trump Cabinet. Fusion reports Vice President Mike Pence, HUD Secretary Ben Carson, Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, Energy Secretary Rick Perry, Attorney General Jeff Sessions, CIA Director Mike Pompeo, nominee for Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue, HHS Secretary Tom Price, and Scott Pruitt, head of the Environmental Protection Agency, have all been engaged in the Capitol Ministries Cabinet Bible study.
Bottom line: Ralph Drollinger, the Trump cabinet Bible study leader who teaches that Christians in government have an obligation to only hire other Christians, is making plans to “Christianize” state and local government officials.
And the march towards a Christian theocracy continues.
