I think this speaks for itself. I am proud of the Knights of Columbus for doing this and will sign the petition.

While I am most sympathetic to what the Knights of Columbus are trying to do, I cannot sign the petition. It just feels unilaterally disarming in the middle of a war.

These two links describe my concern – http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/08/02/obama-escalates-personal-attacks-on-romney/ and http://www.humanevents.com/2012/08/01/ann-coulter-obamas-signature-move-unsealing-private-records/ .

In this election cycle, the consultants are engaged in a political death match. Both believe the future of America, as we know it, is at stake – so do I. Civility isn’t even on the table, but I will do my best to honor Christ. I wish it wasn’t so. Maybe after the election some sanity will be restored.

Art, I’m up to my earlobes in alligators right now. When I get the chance to look at these, I will, and then get back to you. I know whatever your reservations, they have a sound basis.

Thank you, but there’s no need. I just wanted to let you know where I’m coming from.
