Two Lost Episodes of Doctor Who Recovered!

In some happy news for Doctor Who fans, two long missing episodes of Doctor Who have been found. One is part three of “Galaxy 4” from the William Hartnell era, which I blogged about recently. The other is part of “The Underwater Menace” with Patrick Troughton.

Here’s a clip from the former:

Hurrah!  The Patrick Troughton clip brings back happy memories.

Both are good news, but the Troughton is especially good, considering how little of his run survives.

I still think Troughton was the best Doctor.  Without him, Doctor Who might have ended after a few years’ run.

I am inclined to agree, Just Sayin’. What people love most about later Doctors – their not being grandfatherly, their comical character, etc. – all owe much to Troughton’s Doctor.
