Another recording of my favorite piece of music has appeared on YouTube, Kurt Atterberg’s Second Symphony. The opening and closing sections of the second movement take my breath away.

I often see posts illustrated with rock. Thanks for coming through with something more to my liking (and twice in two days).

I love Atterberg’s symphonies! Have you checked out No. 6, perhaps his best known?

The Dollar! Yes indeed. The only one I know relatively less well is his 9th, since it was only relatively recently that a recording became available. Another favorite piece of mine by Atterberg is on the same BIS recording as the 6th Symphony – “Ballad Without Words.” Are you familiar with it?
