Someone has no idea whatsoever what banking is. And I say this as the most ardent wisher to see the banksters punished for the part they played in bringing about the current depression. There’s not the remotest analogy between banking and taking all the apples and putting them in one’s own cupboard. It’s as complete a non sequitur as portraying him banging two rocks together while saying, “it’s a thing I invented called ‘theology’.”
I just assumed that having Adam keep all the apples on behalf of others (who? animals?) and lend and borrow while charging interest would have made for too complex a cartoon. Not to mention the Biblical prohibitions against charging interest…
