Costumes for Christmas

Last Christmas I received a Star Trek shirt as a gift. Since I am not exclusively a Trekkie, presumably I should hope for or buy other outfits from other franchises in future years, to build up a collection? If so, which would you choose? I’d love to have a Doctor Who outfit – whether Tom Baker’s scarf, Peter Davison’s cricket uniform, or Sylvester McCoy’s costume. And I’ve always thought that the viper pilot uniforms from the classic Battlestar Galactica series are particularly cool. Which would be your choice? And is it one that you can just go out and buy, or one that you have to assemble or create for yourself?

Tom Baker’s scarf, definitely. I don’t have the figure to carry off the viper uniform. If I was a decade younger I might have been into the whole Otaku scene, but as it is I never really got into cosplay.

I once sewed two (university undergraduate) scarves together to make a Tom Baker-length scarf.

If I were inclined to dress up for Halloween, I think I would find a way to make a Robots of Death costume, complete with red contact lenses.
