Charles Häberl has written a blog post (and a follow-up, and then another which brings an eclipse into the picture) about the historical references in a section of the Ginza Rba which ought to be considered a Mandaean Chronicle.

The evidence is important and even exciting, and while there is still a serious risk of scholars turning their attention to the Mandaeans for all the wrong reasons, hopefully there will be enough here to fascinate some for the right reasons…
