Dr. Robert A Hunt is the Director of Global Theological Education atPerkins School of Theology,SouthernMethodist University. Dr. Hunt isanauthority on Southeast Asian Christianity, Contemporary Muslim societies and movements, Muslim-Christian relations, inter-religious relations as well as inter-religious and inter-faith dialogue. He teaches courses in contemporary Muslim social and political movements, world religions, mission studies, and inter-religious dialogue. He also directs a wide ranging program of intercultural immersion courses for students of Perkins School of Theology. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, in 1994. From 1985 to 2004 Dr. Hunt lived and worked in Malaysia, Singapore, and Austria and speaks both Malay and German. He has participated in numerous conferences worldwide concerning interfaith relations and inter-religious dialogue and has published several books and many articles in these fields. He is currently researching and writing on religious identity in religiously plural settings. He and his wife, Lilian Liong Huan Wong, have two children, aged 23 and 26. A keen musician, Dr. Hunt plays the French horn and guitar.
