“If the bullets were flying your way faggot boy…”

I receive email. Craig Campbell writes:

why can’t you just live and let live,i bet you if the bullets were flying your way faggot boy you’d be praying cockbite,so justin go fuck yourself and its too bad your a minority

How do I even ‘pray cockbite’? If I catch a religious soldier praying cockbite when bullets are flying, I’d smack him. Even just ‘regular prayer’, really. He might get us all killed! SHOOT BACK, DUMBASS!!!!

This one is less offensive, but the last sentence is priceless.

Dean Gunter writes:

You say you were offended that a christian event was held at the base. Did they advertise burning the worshipng places of other religions? Are you not being more offensive than any christian organization? Before you make accuasations, you should reflect on your actons. If any of you are sincere in your beliefs all you can do is call off this festival, which is based in hatred, and judgement. I you do not, you show people just who are the one’s who should be feared, and are really judgemental. I am not apealing to you as a believer, just as a rational person who sees you hatered and condemnation not as a posative, but a negative that serves to prove the opposite of all of your claims. Besides your headliners music is far from family firendly. Inviting them and having them just not perform their most hateful songs, would be like asking adult film actresses to make an appearance at a school, only to wear cloths. I hope my comments over come your hatred and show you your judgemental ways, although I am sure they will not.

I was not offended that a Christian event was held. I was offended that it was targeted at converting non-Christians to Christianity, and billed as a Spiritual Fitness concert, sponsored and heavily endorsed by the DoD.

To that effect, we are taking the high road. We don’t even think it is possible to convince someone to shed their religion by hearing a few Aiden songs. We are even specifically not doing ‘de-baptisms’ with a giant leaf-blower, or anything like that.

But to your first question: Yes, in a way. They gathered hundreds of non-Christians (presumably Muslims, Jews, atheists, and Christians who were the ‘wrong type of Christian’) and put them front and center on stage. Then they renounced their previous religious preference and became Christians. That’s disgusting. It has no place in government. And it opened the door for not just Rock Beyond Belief, but what about an evangelical Wiccan festival? What about an evangelical Islamic festival, perhaps on Fort Hood?

Send your complaints to the Pentagon (to join ours), and start working on a time machine. We agree that no events should be allowed on this scope and scale, but unfortunately the Christian events (which were heavily protested beforehand) were not canceled. Instead, a ‘limited public forum’ was established.

I find it so annoying that people like Craig Campbell can’t realize that even if all the nonsense in his email were true, that it in no way goes to prove that his beliefs are true.

Oh, and I love the spelling mistakes in Dean Gunter’s email. It’s so obvious that he’s trying to use his grown up big boy writing style and sound oh so sophisticated…but he can’t even spell “positive”.

  • Aquaria

    Hey, Craig:

why can’t you just live and let live

    You first, moron.

bet you if the bullets were flying your way

And where are you stationed, son?

    faggot boy

You will know they are christards by their love, by their love.

    you’d be praying cockbite

You’re awfully obsessed with homosexuality, dear. Is there something you need to tell us?

    so justin go fuck yourself

I bet you really do want Justin to do that. Where you can watch.

and its too bad your a minority

    Constitution fail.

Thank you for playing, Craig, and being example #297289793265200238 for us that most christers are lying, stupid bigots.

  • Pierce R. Butler

Do specific threats against an active-duty member of the US armed forces count as acts of treason, providing “aid and comfort to the enemy”?

Anything an Iraqi or Afghan did which would cause uniformed American personnel to feel endangered could probably be used as justification for use of lethal force. Are Craig Campbell and Dean Gunter (and all the rest) being given special privileges not allowed to (say) Bradley Manning (who has never, sfaik, expressed hostility towards any US servicemember)?

  • Aquaria

Now for Dean, Dean the Stupid Machine:

You say you were offended that a christian event was held at the base. Did they advertise burning the worshipng places of other religions?

That’s the only way anything can be offensive? By burning stuff down?

Are you not being more offensive than any christian organization?

    No.

    Before you make accuasations

Justin deals with reality, dear. We leave unevidenced assertions to christers.

you should reflect on your actons.

You first. For starters, you might want to try thinking before you writing an illiterate, incoherent letter that a 2-year-old would find inane.

    Consider it a helpful hint.

If any of you are sincere in your beliefs

Wow–stupidly condescending. You’re assuming that none of us are sincere about what we believe. Way to be a passive-aggressive, judgmental slimebag, Dean!

all you can do is call off this festival

There’s another option, dimwit: Holding it. Like I said, passive aggressive.

which is based in hatred, and judgement.

Says the turd writing a letter based on hatred and judgment.

Just how is it hateful for atheists to get together and talk about the things that are important to them? I’m really curious to know how you came to that conclusion about an event that hasn’t taken place and that you’re not smart enough to understand.

    I you do not

    Word salad is word salad

you show people just who are the one’s who should be feared

People gathering together to exchange ideas is fearful to you? How do you deal with your delusion pal–er, church, then?

Honestly, do you think through anything or is everything a knee-jerk response instilled in you by inbred Southern christardery?

    and are really judgemental.

I take it there aren’t any mirrors around you.

I am not apealing to you as a believer

    Lie.

    just as a rational person

    LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

Oh, Dean, what a card you are!

who sees you hatered and condemnation

    There goes another irony meter

    not as a posative

The illiteracy is strong in this one

but a negative that serves to prove the opposite of all of your claims.

I think I might be able to turn off my brain enough to understand part of your problem, Dean. It’s this claims business. Believe me, I’m sure we’re all shocked here that you don’t understand how this works.

    Atheists make no claims.

    There. Does that help?

Besides your headliners music is far from family firendly.

    How do you know?

Inviting them and having them just not perform their most hateful songs

Compared to say, Onward Christian Soldiers, eh? Or the brain-draing pap known as christer rock. :::Shudder::::

Friends don’t let friends listen to christer rock, Dean.

would be like asking adult film actresses to make an appearance at a school, only to wear cloths.

And then christers wonder why we talk about how hateful they are.

You just compared atheism to pornography. This is sickening and stupid.

Porn is a lot more accepted, for one thing.

I hope my comments over come your hatred</i.

Amusement and contempt aren't hatred, dear.

and show you your judgemental ways, although I am sure they will not.

    Pot.

    Kettle.

    Black.

Thanks for playing moron christer bigot, Dean. Your consolation prize is a lifetime of being an illiterate nitwit.

  • John

    Justin,

I am amazed by your courage, and perseverance in the face of such adversity within our culture. Keep up the good work. I hope that you are properly supported by the atheist community, such that you are able to translate these experiences into a lifelong leadership commitment within this movement. Please let me know if I can be of service, in that regards. We’re doing our best, in SD, to create a vibrant and viable MAAF Chapter. If you ever find your way on the left coast, please come visit. We’d love to have you give a presentation, or at least stop by and chat.

    Sincerely,

    John

“Faggot boy”? Sadly, that’s not terribly surprising coming from soup boy.

The video of your talk is excellent, by the way, especially the bit about the spiritual fitness exercise of hunting for the good stuff–on the floor. I will never see people praying with their heads bowed in the same way ever again. :D

Craig made me literally laugh out loud. I just got back from Afghanistan not less than a month ago, and I was getting shot at EVERY day and I don’t remember praying even once.

  • Dave

I have two words for Craig…Pat fucking Tillman.

    Justin,

They say one can measure the impact they are having on a righteous cause by the amount of hate mail and death threats one amasses from the mindless majority. It was true of M.M. O’Hare, MLK, Jessica Ahlquist etc.

If is any consolation know that the loving Xtians who despise the Constitution and despise those who don’t share their delusion is a clear indication of the impact you are making in “the struggle.”

    Kudos to you.

Says the guy who sincerely believes his deity of preference will torture us non-believers for eternity.

Do these people have any self-awareness?

  • http://atheistcamel.blogspot.com/ Bart

    N. Nescio:

Good question. The answer is no, they do not.

I’m just curious about a few things; for instance: What “beliefs” does he attribute to non-believers?

How is proclaiming a god’s non-existence, and the expectation of equal treatment to non-believers, an indicator of hate?

Isn’t he making a “judgement” by virtue of his assumption of hate and other’s judgements?

And how do they let anyone into the military whose grammar and spelling is as bad as that? Isn’t there a minimum education requirement anymore?

  • Steve

Does that mean praying for a cock to bite you, or praying for you to bite a cock? I don’t get it

  • http://atheistcamel.blogspot.com/ Bart

I’m going to try and think (lol.. yeah I know) like a deluded and under educated Xtian fanatic and assume he meant “play” when he typed “pray.”

Now, I can’t know for sure, ‘cuz to be absolutely sure I’d have to drop about 50 IQ points, but based on my many years of experience with them it’s a safe bet.

  • Tony

    Steve @12:

Does that mean praying for a cock to bite you, or praying for you to bite a cock? I don’t get it

-Perhaps ‘Cockbite’ is the thematic sequel to the movie ‘Teeth’.

Just remember what happened to O’Hair and MLK. Justin, be careful while you’re doing all this good work.
