DoD budget: Spiritual Fitness test – $125 mil, Rape prevention $113 mil

McClatchy Newspapers were quoted in this report from worst person ever, Liz Trotta at Fox News.

And the feminists have also directed them, really, to spend a lot of money. They have sexual counselors all over the place, victims’ advocates, sexual response coordinators. Let me just read something to you from McClatchy Newspapers about how much this position on extreme feminism is costing us. “The budget for the Defense Department’s Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Office leapt from $5 million in fiscal 2005 to more than $23 million in fiscal 2010. Total Defense Department spending on sexual assault prevention and related efforts now exceeds $113 million annually.” That’s from McClatchy Newspapers.

This is the bullshit they are citing. This whole video is cringe-worthy.

The chaplaincy aside, the DoD is spending hundreds of millions on no-bid contracts with civilians who are paid to evangelize and proselytize. I repeat, THESE numbers do not include the chaplaincy. Rather, they are just civilians and companies who know how to fill out forms regarding military contracting.

But the Spiritual Fitness testing and training alone costed US taxpayers $125,000,000. More than ALL of rape / sexual assault prevention and response from the entire DoD.

Here is the original post from a fellow foxhole atheist that turned me onto this situation.

Well, if people would just stop raping other people, the costs would go down, wouldn’t they? Then there would be more money to throw away on religious and military-industrial bullshit. (A whopping 100 mil, I know. Which is like zip next to the rest of the budgets for warmongering and security theater.)

I’m just hopeful because there are these terrible feminists, atheists, and other good people serving in our military.

If person in the military were spiritually fit, then they wouldn’t be raping anyone… unless their spirituality of choice includes literal embrace of the parts of their holy books that justify/glorify rape, of course.

Frankly, what they spend on it is actually good, and I don’t find it “feminist” at all…it’s actually rather disgusting how much sexual assault of ALL types -including just inappropriate verbal comments- happens in the military. It happens in the civilian world too, of course, but we’re not talking civilians here. Oi, the marines alone that were on my ship…you couldn’t pass one on a ladder without getting the full up-and-down lookover…

*The Department of Defense estimates that more than 19,000 service members were raped or sexually assaulted in 2010.

I wonder what that does to the ‘spiritual fitness’ of the victims. No wonder they need to give a test. I can’t believe we even have to discuss this, it should have been taken care of a long time ago.

A dirty secret of the military is that everyone, male/female and straight/gay, is potentially subject to harassment and physical abuse, up to and including rape. Men do indeed get raped and more often than not it is by men who think of themselves as the very definition of straight and manly.

Females and gays are just the ‘canary in the coalmine’.

Rape prevention and anti-abuse training and enforcement are good for the entire military. If/when it was understood by these people that anyone can be harassed and raped, and that rules, standards, and enforcement are the only thing standing between their darling son getting raped this would not be an issue. That it is shows how far we have yet to go.
