RBB finally featuring RSS

Quick note - I somehow neglected to have any way for people to subscribe to these posts via RSS.Anyway - here's the RSS feed http://feeds.feedburner.com/RockBeyondBeliefIt seems that RSS has been the gold standard for blog readership for quite some time. So I must look pretty dense. So I might as well ask you guys: Do you guys use RSS? Do you use it for anything besides reading blogs? What's the 'best' reader? Am I doing it right yet? … [Read more...]

PandaMania Bible Summer Camp… Mascot Fail

I'm sure many of you will remember last week's story about the Fort Bragg Garrison Chaplain's annual Vacation Bible School. It turns out that many of our members are familiar with VBS products. Apparently, there are a few companies that launch new VBS packages every couple of years. This year, parents who sign the permission slip from the Fort Bragg schools are signing their children up for the PandaMania VBS package. Our lively Facebook community had responses filled with witty Panda … [Read more...]

Brave Army Captain On the Dangers of Fighting Proselytism

I get a lot of touching comments, and letters of support from inside and outside of the military. The Rock Beyond Belief team has a few officers on board, but this letter comes from a Captain who understands the complications keeping most of my fellow team members, and foxhole atheists in general, from publicly identifying themselves. In case the reader is unaware, simply speaking out in the military is not easy. And standing up for what is right when it comes to religion and proselytism is … [Read more...]

I Get Comments – “I do not support the troops”

This one comes from new commenter, Autymn - who appears to be from California. I do not support the troops. I hate Americans and every other nation; all Commonwealths/Republics/Dèmocraties must be taken down.Death to cretins! I followed a link he posted to his Google group, and I wouldn't recommend it. Here is what I found: When we die we become ghosts and may go anywhere (well, anywhere dry), and are not under any fake Gods. Many still alive'v been to the heavens (or planes) by astral p … [Read more...]

Bastrop School Knowingly Breaks Laws and Promises About Prayer

Yesterday, we brought you Damon Fowler's struggle to stop the school's prayer at his graduation. He threatened to go to the ACLU, so they actually backed down. Then staff members at this school started saying extremely upsetting things about him in the town's newspapers. They were mad that a person dared to call them out on decades old constitutionally settled law.Several of us passed along his request for people to write to the school, and I added a link to the newspaper in Bastrop. You guys … [Read more...]

Courageous High School Atheist Needs 5 Minutes Of Your Time

Rock Beyond Belief has a busy weekend planned (with that exciting 24 hour telethon that you are going to watch). However, I really want to shift gears for a second. This is from reddit: My graduation from high school is this Friday. I live in the Bible Belt of the United States. The school was going to perform a prayer at graduation, but due to me sending the superintendent an email stating it was against Louisiana state law and that I would be forced to contact the ACLU if they ignored me, … [Read more...]
