Jesus Camp Bragg – US Army Provides and Funds Vacation Bible School

Earlier this month, all 50,000 troops stationed at Fort Bragg received a message from our Public Affairs Office. It was a brief announcement for the Annual Garrison Chaplain's Vacation Bible School. The annual Garrison Chaplain's Vacation Bible School (VBS) will be held at Gordon Elementary (Linden Oaks) June 16-17 from 9 a.m.-noon and Devers Elementary (Ardennes) June 20-24 from 9 a.m.-noon. VBS is available for DOD Family members who have completed kindergarten through the sixth grade. Okay, … [Read more...]

I Get Comments – “I do not support the troops”

This one comes from new commenter, Autymn - who appears to be from California. I do not support the troops. I hate Americans and every other nation; all Commonwealths/Republics/Dèmocraties must be taken down. Death to cretins! I followed a link he posted to his Google group, and I wouldn't recommend it. Here is what I found: When we die we become ghosts and may go anywhere (well, anywhere dry), and are not under any fake Gods. Many still alive'v been to the heavens (or planes) by astral … [Read more...]

Bastrop School Knowingly Breaks Laws and Promises About Prayer

Yesterday, we brought you Damon Fowler's struggle to stop the school's prayer at his graduation. He threatened to go to the ACLU, so they actually backed down. Then staff members at this school started saying extremely upsetting things about him in the town's newspapers. They were mad that a person dared to call them out on decades old constitutionally settled law. Several of us passed along his request for people to write to the school, and I added a link to the newspaper in Bastrop. You guys … [Read more...]

Courageous High School Atheist Needs 5 Minutes Of Your Time

Rock Beyond Belief has a busy weekend planned (with that exciting 24 hour telethon that you are going to watch). However, I really want to shift gears for a second. This is from reddit: My graduation from high school is this Friday. I live in the Bible Belt of the United States. The school was going to perform a prayer at graduation, but due to me sending the superintendent an email stating it was against Louisiana state law and that I would be forced to contact the ACLU if they ignored me, … [Read more...]

24 Hour Internet Telethon For Foxhole Atheists on Rapture Day

Despite being a notoriously stupid thing to predict, someone has figured out the day of the apocalypse! (again) By now you've heard about the Rapture / end-times predictions for Friday May 21. You might even be attending a cool Rapture themed party. But, did you know that May 21st is also Armed Forces Day? We are the benefactor for an awesome interactive 24 hour rapture party / telethon! This post will be 'sticky' all week, expand it for more details. … [Read more...]

We Just Received a $50,000 Donation From the Stiefel Freethought Foundation

AMAZING! The Stiefel Freethought Foundation has just increased their pledge to Rock Beyond Belief to $50,000. This is enough money to allow the nonreligious military community to fully fund the event on the parade field at Fort Bragg this Fall. All we need now is co-sponsorship from Fort Bragg (which they promised and even sort of delivered before). This removes one of the last possible pseudo-arguments held over our heads. They denied us any funding at all on our first attempt, saying that we … [Read more...]

Raising the US Flag the Day After Bin Laden’s Death Announced

Five hours ago, President Obama announced the death of Osama Bin Laden. Special Operations carried out in Pakistan ended with a bullet in Bin Laden's head. Celebrations erupted in the streets of nation, despite the near midnight announcement. httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvW60YKfULM I'm proud of the military members who carried this mission out. I'm proud of my Commander-in-Chief, who even took some flack during the election season over promising to take military action in Pakistan if … [Read more...]

My Dad Wishes Me Happy Easter and Completely Debunks Science

My Dad is pretty awesome. Hope you, Tianna and Baby Zoe are having a great Easter.  And don't forget the reasoning for the seasoning! Have you considered alternate explanations for things that 'science' tries to tell us?  I offer this bit for your consideration: So while you're all concerned about atheists in foxholes, the real question should be: "ARE THERE DINOSAURS IN FOXHOLES?" Just sayin'. -Dad Flawless. Which reminds me of the ultimate debate tactic that many Christian apologists … [Read more...]

Tornadoes are evil and my cat is a bastard

I was gone for two minutes. In the meantime, Zero did this (above) The speakers were freaking out with loud error beeps (which continued for several minutes after I removed him). There is no way he was comfortable, and he clearly has a spiteful 'In your face' smile. Damage done: closed 3 email replies (not recovered) launched VLC crashed VLC crashed a browser (twice actually because he opened hundreds of tabs, and I was naive enough to try to restore my tabs) So instead of that really … [Read more...]
