What I’ve been up to

Deployment This last year has had its ups and downs for me and I've gone through quite a bit. I traveled to multiple different countries throughout the Western Pacific and the Middle East. Rock Beyond Belief secured a promise from the Marines to cease religious proselytization violations. I made new friends and severed some old relationships. And now I'm back in the United States of America. Here's a list of some stuff that's gone on in the last year:  I traveled to 7 different … [Read more...]

Painless way to send a troop a care package free of charge

Anyway, I've been away from my daughter Zoe for longer than she's been alive. That's something I never want to be able to say again. She's adorable, and my wife has done an amazing … [Read more...]

My daughter thinks daddy lives in the computer

She definitely knows me, even though I've been gone for quite some time. Zoe is our first, and she is 7 months old now. I get to watch her grow up while deployed thanks to webcam technology. Many veterans of previous wars relied upon slow correspondence through letters or they used the phone every few weeks. I get so much more, and I'm grateful. Recently I even told my niece that I lived in the computer, and that I was hungry. She 'fed' me chips that she was snacking on. My family wasn't … [Read more...]
