Happy Mother’s Day, hope you like military-grade FAIL

An anonymous foxhole atheist at Fort Jackson sent me this.If you seek it out, remember do not start flame wars, and always be respectful. Don't feed any trolls that may pop up. I'm going to Fort Jackson in a few weeks - trying to keep pitchforks and torches out of this.If you must, leave your comment on the post itself. Don't click on the picture to leave a comment. The picture is secular and comes from some other unit that didn't say anything about god - you'd be speaking to the … [Read more...]

Army unit says only religious troops get out of work Friday morning

This flyer just went up on the Facebook page for the 2nd Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne... (or simply 2-508 PIR). They are stationed at Fort Bragg, N.C.----EDIT:***IMPORTANT UPDATE******IMPORTANT UPDATE 2 - They 'fixed' it and reposted it... with a wall of text rant aimed at me. Can't respond their because I'm banned. ***----After I asked around, it seems that there is no 'time away from work' opportunity for the … [Read more...]

Facebook super-fail: only Christians survive in a foxhole

Larry M. says I'm a 'dummy' that's going to get 'wacked' (sic) in a foxhole because... I'm not a Christian. He's also grateful that he doesn't have to be the guy who carries my body back to the FOB. Atheists are just too damned heavy! At least he accepts that there are indeed atheists in foxholes. I'm not sure why he sent me a message implying my impending death (because his god wouldn't block the bullets for me.) Oh well... this is progress, people! If you want to communicate with me … [Read more...]

Christian wonders why atheists hate love so much

I am the recipient of electronic mail. This one from Ronnie was disarmingly titled "No Death Wish!"I am not writing to pass conflict to others. However, I cannot understand why you hate love so much. What?! Hate 'love'? That is the unrealistic demeanor reserved only for Disney villains. Are you a child? It is hard to understand why you (an atheists) hate God and feel you can tell God how things are to be.Do you hate Ra, Thor, and Zeus? Why do you feel you can tell Ra, Thor and Zeus how thi … [Read more...]

Fort Bragg troll researches lyrics, “Spoonboy has daddy issues lol”

Here we go again. This is basically how it started with the hysteria about Aiden's lyrics, but then some unethical journalism spun it out of control. Now it's right on the Fort Bragg official facebook post about Rock Beyond Belief. I was wondering how long it would take for fundies to turn on another musician in our lineup. Someone discovered the intensely intellectual pop-gems that David Combs a.k.a. Spoonboy belts out.But they didn't attack the atheist stuff. It got weird. Instead they at … [Read more...]

Bragg announced the atheist event on Facebook. HELP! Troll Patrol!

I'm so proud of Fort Bragg's embrace of the atheist festival. They just posted it prominently on their Facebook page, as promised.Predictably, the trolls are already out. Please, help us.[edit: please note there is a 2nd post that desperately needs some of your help!]Melissa wrote:"I have been praying for this, pray that when this man gets up to speak that only Gods words comes out of his mouth that what ever he has prepared to say doesn't fit to be said that the Christians of Fort … [Read more...]

A chaplain is telling Fort Bragg that we plan to burn down churches

FORT BRAGG, NC – Chaplain (Captain) Chuck Williams wrote an open letter on Fort Bragg's Facebook page calling for the cancellation of on-post secular festival Rock Beyond Belief. Cpt. Williams claims,"It has now been made blatantly public by [event] organizers that part of this event will be... glorifying violence against people who possess a faith in God through the burning of churches. This is appalling!"Fort Bragg estimates that 5,000 people will attend the all-day event. It was p … [Read more...]

Another crazy response from foxhole atheist-basher, Pastor Bryan Griem

**Guest post from a Facebook friend. Thanks, Beth!**My goodness. A while back, I read something somewhere about responses to a question in the Pasadena Sun concerning whether or not the military should test spirituality. (It may have been on Justin Griffith's blog, I'm not sure.) Here was one of the responses, from a pastor in Pasadena: … [Read more...]
