Public school’s “I love Jesus Because ___” smoking gun surfaces

A controversial effort to spread Christianity across international borders might soon be stopped at Glenwood Elementary, a public school in McDowell County, North Carolina. Soon after the story got out last Thusday, secular activists began contacting officials in McDowell County. American Atheists has obtained a copy of the form that all students at Glenwood Elementary had to fill out. This is part of Operation Christmas Child, an effort by the Billy Graham Evangelistic … [Read more...]

Operation Christmas Child and their ‘Jew boy scum’ enemies

Mikey Weinstein, the President and founder of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation gets email. Some of it is not safe for work. This insane rant is brought to you in defense of the same program that is currently infecting McDowell County School District - Operation Christmas Child. Typical stinking jew boy Mikey to try to stop the love of Jesus to bring toys to needy children who will burn forever in the Lake of fire (like jewboy mikey will for sure) unless they are saved by the grace … [Read more...]

There are no atheists in foxholes in sandstorms.

This picture was taken of Justin Griffith in (not so) broad daylight. There are no atheists in foxholes in sandstorms. We're too smart for that shit. Very beige In case you were wondering, yes you can dig a foxhole in the desert. Sand doesn't play nice with the most common weapons we use (M16 / M4), and it's not all that common. But it can be done in the desert terrain. But in a sandstorm? The current sandstorm we are going through out here would render digging efforts completely useless. … [Read more...]

Nobody On Our Lineup Has Been Banned From Army Events

This is another entry in the The Great Rock the Fort Swindle - exploring the disparity between the support for Rock the Fort and the Rock Beyond Belief. Franklin Graham is the driving force behind the Billy Graham Evangelical Association, who co-sponsored (along with Fort Bragg) the Rock the Fort event. He has previously been banned from official Army events before, and it makes me wonder why his organization was given so much support. In comparison, nobody on our lineup, or on the Rock Beyond … [Read more...]

Evangelist Franklin Graham banned by the Army earlier this year, continues to host other events on Bases

On September 25th, Franklin brought his evangelical 7.5 hour long event to Fort Bragg. His stated goal was to convert as many soldiers and their spouses. Fort Bragg was far from the first location of the so-called "Rock the Fort" events. They've bragged about converting over 500 soldiers on stage at the same time at one event, and 123 at another last year. There is a lot more to this story, and we've written extensively about this here and Atheist Oasis has an excellent lengthy treatment … [Read more...]

Rock the Fort Revisited (part two of two)

I'd like to repeat the following paragraph from last week's article before we begin: If you have been following this website for a while, you have probably noticed the purposeful avoidance of discussing the Rock the Fort controversy. Yes, it’s true that we’d like to stand on our own as an event, and distinguish ourselves as ‘not just a counter-event.’ However, in order to establish this difference, we need to explore exactly what and why the Rock the Fort event was offensive. If we are … [Read more...]
