In the news Recently there has been a media flurry surrounding Mikey Weinstein and the Military Religious Freedom Foundation. Megyn Kelly, of Fox News, along with James and Shirley Dobson went on a verbal assault of Mikey and MRFF.  Claiming that Mikey was an atheist (he's not) and the MRFF was an atheist organization (it's not) .Now is this a problem? That all depends upon context. 'Atheist' is not defamation Actually...Before you can make an argument as to whether or not … [Read more...]

The First Amendment: What Argument?

I've been spending a lot of time studying the Constitution, lately. I really like that document and I think it is very nearly the greatest thing ever written. It's mind-blowingly brilliant and, although there were flaws in it, the manner in which it was written and how our government was set up gave it the ability to become great. I guess I shall start with the simplicity of the First Amendment, the bedrock of my own activism. Amendment I  Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment … [Read more...]

American Atheists American Atheists, the "Marines of Freethought", this weekend hired a new Military Director to help ensure that no egregious religious violations conducted by the Department of Defense maintain a status quo for religious inequality in the armed forces. Rock Beyond Belief wants to congratulate American Atheists on filling this much needed position. Many times atheists serving in the military are overlooked by the vast civilian populace and it's a comfort knowing that there is … [Read more...]

We’re destroying Christmas, you say?

My friend said this: I feel like I need to clear something up.Those of us who feel that courthouses and public areas should not display nativity scenes, crosses, and the ten commandments, do not feel this way because your religion offends us. We do not feel this way because we think your religion offends others. No one should ever be offended by the beliefs of others. That's just ridiculous. It's like being offended by someone else's thoughts. The thought itself cannot harm you...it's what … [Read more...]

The Fog of War…

War_on_Christmas

Yep, here we are in the middle of December and as always, the War on Christmas is fully underway.Due to the efforts of those evil atheists and secularists and their attacks on Christianity, saying the words Merry Christmas is now illegal, which forced the great state of Texas to pass a state law guaranteeing a person's right to say Merry Christmas. What's that you say?  It's never actually been illegal to say Merry Christmas anywhere?  But what about that time I went shopping and the c … [Read more...]

Shaw Air Force Base Complying with Regulations

I received this email within the last hour and felt like I should share it with you.I am a USAF fighter pilot stationed here at Shaw AFB, SC. I am also one of the MRFF clients who asked for help in the matter of the nativity scene erected at Memorial Lake here on base in violation of DoD and USAF regs.My spouse and I and a number of others (we're all practicing Christians of some type or another) who are clients of the MRFF in my Fighter Sq. just wanted to say thank you for stepping up … [Read more...]

I suppose they won’t be offended

IMG_0625

The crazies are out in full force this year Apparently, people get offended by my activism.Separating church and state is a pretty serious topic for me. Atrocities occur when you blur that line and eventually destroy it. It won't turn out too well for the Christo-fascists, either. That brings to mind a time when the Christo-fascists DID get their way in the United States. The 18th Amendment Back in the early 20th century the Christo-fascists weilded so much power that they were able … [Read more...]
