Modern Day Slavery–too alive and well and living in America

This month’s issue of Freedom Magazine contains and interview with the president of FAIR Girls, a nonprofit established to help rescue victims of trafficking and to educate community and government organizations to raise awareness and halt these practices.

“SLAVERY IS NOT DEAD in America, says Andrea Powell, co-founder and executive director of FAIR Girls (Free, Aware, Inspired, Restored), a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit that assists survivors of human trafficking through education and empowerment. She serves as FAIR Girls’ chief liaison to the D.C. Anti-Trafficking Task Force and has trained hundreds of law enforcement personnel, social workers and others in how to identify and assist victims of sex and forced labor trafficking.
