CINAT Captain John Galindo Vega on the Scientology Volunteer Ministers January 12, 2017

The grand opening of the Church of Scientology of Bogotá was a truly magnificent occasion. The first Ideal Scientology Church in South America, it was officiated by Chairman of the Board Religious Technology Center Mr. David Miscavige and special guest speakers included Lt. Colonel Anstrongh Polania, Chief of the Department of Joint Operational Law, Ministry of Defense; Lt. Colonel Carlos Peña, Coordinator for Anti-Drug Education, Colombian Anti-Narcotics Department; Captain John Galindo Vega, Operations Director, Circle of Aid Technicians of Colombia (CINAT); Lt. Colonel Edgar Rojas, Special Ops Commander for Rural Zones, Colombian National Police; and Dr. Sandra Rincón, Advisor to the Ministry of Social Integration, Bogotá City.

The full speech of  Captain John Galindo Vega was published this week on the Scientology Religion website.

I first learned of the amazing work of Capt. Vega in from his work as part of the Scientology Disaster Response Team responding to the earthquake in Nepal. He and his team saved lives in this developing country, already taxed beyond coping with many basic humanitarians needs. With the earthquake, the infrastructure was decimated making medical care virtually impossible. CINAT, under Capt. Vega’s direction and personal action, provided urgently needed first aid and emergency medical care to thousands in the days that followed the quake.

His video is also online on YouTube:

Captain John Alexander Galindo Vega is Operations Director of the National Circle of Aid Technicians of Colombia (CINAT). At the grand opening he described his organization’s work with Scientology Volunteer Ministers in coordinating disaster response and assistance: “When I first saw the Volunteer Ministers, what struck me was their deep humanitarian spirit and devotion to a grand goal—to bring real help. It was from that first moment we decided we must work together. That’s the reason CINAT established a permanent partnership with the Volunteer Ministers so thousands of future expert rescuers will also become Scientology Volunteer Ministers.”

The full video transcript is below:

“As a professional rescuer and coordinator, I have been given the opportunity to humbly work as the hand of God, to help thousands upon thousands of people in disasters. I believe the greatest joy of living is to be able to help someone in need and seeing a smile dawn on the faces of those we have helped. My intention is to always be ready to be in the right place at the right moment to answer the call. Because saving lives is above anything the material world can offer. It is not a monetary payment; it is in the realm of spirituality.

It was in 2010 when I discovered your Volunteer Ministers Program. When I met them, what struck me was their deep humanitarian spirit and devotion to a grand goal—to bring real help. It was from that first moment we decided we must work together. That’s the reason the National Circle of Aid Technicians of Colombia established a permanent partnership with the Volunteer Ministers. Since then, we have aided countless numbers in dire need both in Colombia and the world. Together, we have done collaborative projects in Barranquilla, rescuing thousands from floods, going by Leticia and working in the jungle and the Amazon river in Brazil. And we also worked together as the official emergency response team at the Brazil World Cup. And even most recently in the humanitarian effort after the earthquake that hit Nepal, among many other projects.

You help without consideration to borders, faith or social status and all for the sake of your fellow man. You are my greatest support. The Volunteer Ministers Program is a beating heart of our society. With a large international family, Volunteer Ministers represent dozens of nationalities. You could say that working with the Volunteer Ministers is like having a United Nations of pure volunteerism. To experience the brotherhood and goodwill of this movement across the planet is powerful. So our organization CINAT decided to take this brotherhood one step further. In establishing our International Academy of Disaster Response we decided to include Scientology programs and particularly that of the Scientology Volunteer Ministers. In other words, we established a permanent partnership with the Volunteer Ministers and so thousands of future expert rescuers will also become Scientology Volunteer Ministers!

With the opening of this Scientology Ideal Organization, we are witnessing the beginning of a grand movement for Mankind. You have achieved so much to reach this moment and it is certainly not the time to stop. Rather, this is when you march forward into your very bright future. Thank you all for placing your eyes upon Colombia. I know you will help my country in its goal to become a nation of peace. We are here by your side and at your service. Thank you!”
