Anniversary of Dianetics the Modern Science of Mental Health

Dianetics was published on May 9, 1950. It marked the beginning of a new era--one in which Man could truly rise to greater heights. Dianetics is a methodology which can help alleviate unwanted sensations and emotions, irrational fears and psychosomatic illnesses (illnesses caused or aggravated by mental stress). It is most accurately described as what the soul is doing to the body through the mind. Prior to 1950, prevailing scientific thought had concluded Man’s mind to be his … [Read more...]

May 9th–the Anniversary of Dianetics

One of the holidays of the Scientology religion is  May 9th, the day ins 1950 when the first book of Scientology and Dianetics, Dianetics: the Modern Science f Mental Health, was published in 1950. It signifies the birth of the movement. It is still the book recommended for most people to begin their studies of the subject. L. Ron Hubbard discovered the single source of nightmares, unreasonable fears, upsets, insecurities and psychosomatic illness—the reactive mind. In  Dianetics: … [Read more...]

Parenting: The Importance of Understanding Dianetics (Part 3)

This is the third in a series of posts on the subject of using Dianetics as a parent.  The first andsecond posts focused around how I use Dianetics as a parent, with my kids.  But there’s that other part of being a parent – taking care of oneself so that parenting doesn’t drive you crazy.   ADDRESSING YOURSELF   With my Husband, Russ Time after time I have seen or heard about a relatively minor situation that was made so much worse simply because the parent could not … [Read more...]

Dianetics includes the use of particular (and very effective) techniques, but it’s more the understanding of people and of the mind that I find I use with others, including my children, on a day to day … [Read more...]

How do you explain what’s not bothering you anymore?

One of the most difficult things to explain to someone about how Dianetics and Scientology changes your life is about things that don't bother you anymore; about irrational thoughts and reactions that you don't have anymore. Why are Scientologists so zealous about wanting other people to become Scientologists?  Because they have personally experienced these changes and they know within themselves how much more fun life is without negative thoughts and irrational reactions holding them … [Read more...]

What Being a Scientology Parent Means to Me

I’m a Scientologist and a parent.  What does that mean?  The answer sums up a lot of why I started this site in the first place.  And although I’ve written over 200 articles on this site so far on the subject, I’ve never actually just summarized what it means to me to be a Scientology Parent. Applying One’s Religion to Life With any religion, there’s a massive difference between simply calling oneself a member of that religion (i.e. “I’m a Scientologist”, “I’m Jewish”, … [Read more...]
