Hinman’s ABEAN Argument – Part 1: “Eternal and Necessary”

Joe Hinman wants me to seriously consider two arguments for the conclusion that "God is real".  I'm going to focus on his ABEAN argument for a number of posts, before I examine his argument from religious experience.I have attempted to summarize Hinman's  first argument in a brief standard form argument:Hinman's ABEAN Argument 1. All natural phenomena are contingent and temporal. 2. IF all natural phenomena are contingent and temporal, THEN some aspect of being is eternal and n … [Read more...]

Hinman’s Two Ways – Part 1: Outline of Argument #1

The Debate about Jesus has Begun

The debate between me and Joe Hinman about the existence of Jesus has begun. We are focusing on just the external (non-biblical) evidence.Joe has published his positive case for the claim that:...the external (not in Bible) evidence is strong enough to warrant belief in Jesus' historicity. Here is a link to Joe's initial post that summarizes his positive case:http://christiancadre.blogspot.hr/2016/06/debate-bradly-bowen-vs-joseph-hinman.htmlJoe has divided his case into … [Read more...]
