Less than a week until the Mom’s Day Away!

Just one more week until the Faith and Family Mom’s Day Away!

There’s still time to register, so I hope you can go!  It’s in Stoneham, MA, very close to Boston.  I know several women will be bringing their babies with them, and Danielle Bean tells me:

We purposely made all the “prayer in the chapel” type of stuff optional so that moms with kids or moms who came mostly to socialize won’t feel “stuck” in quiet places.

The church we’ll be in has a beautiful hall with lovely side rooms that [moms] could feel free to escape to with a screechy baby. It really is a perfect spot for moms. There is one room that is just filled with couches and pillows. I am not sure what the church uses it for, but it looks like a perfect “nursing spot” to me. And there are other places too. I really hope she will come, even if just to hang out with some other ladies for a while — I personally would love to have a baby to hold during lunch. :-)

Who will be there?

Hallie Lord of Betty Beguiles!  Rebecca Teti of Faith and Family Live!   Melanie Bettenelli of the Wine Dark Sea! Lisa Mladinich of Amazing Catechists! Kate Wicker of MomopolyPat Gohn of, like, everywhereDorian Speed of Scrutinies!  Lisa Hendey of CatholicMom.com! Daria Sockey of Coffee and Canticles! Jen Fulwiler of Conversion Diary! Rachel Balducci of Testosterhome!  Jen, Rachel, and Danielle will be giving talks, and there will be all sorts of other things going on.

Please do make it if you can!  I am actually voluntarily spending a night away from my husband to attend this event, so you know it has to be good.  Still time to register!

WOOOOOO-HOOOOOOO! I just bought my ticket. I can’t remember the last time I was away from the house and kids for this long.

Oh, yes I do. It was the last time I gave birth.

I’m with the Priest’s wife on this one. Waa! My DH was unemployed for ten months ending in January 2011 (thank you God), so I can’t justify an extravagant trip like this, but I would dearly love to be around a group of women who have wit, wisdom and a voice of their own.

Enjoy yourselves and write it all up for those of us who live (at least a bit) vicariously through you.

I SO want to come! I fell like loading up the kids and driving there from Iowa.

But then, there are the high schoolers that need to stay here. And the very important husband.

We just need to do this in the Midwest.

If we could get you east coasters (and Texans) to come!

    so…..why doesn’t Jen get a link? LOL
