Harry Potter & Half Blood Prince: Vatican paper praises film’s values

I was reading Fr. Roderick Vonhogen’s post on Facebook (he is a Dutch priest who speaks and writes in American English and is very, very “with it” regarding technology, communication, culture and faith.) and he posted this link to the Catholic News Service article:

Vatican newspaper praises values in new Harry Potter film

Fr. Roderick also says:  “check out and subscribe to SQPN’s popular podcast series ‘The Secrets of Harry Potter’, dedicated to highlighting the many Christian themes used by J.K. Rowling throughout the Harry Potter saga”: The Secrets of Harry Potter.

I haven’t seen the film yet, but for those of you going at midnight tonight, you may want to check out these links!

You might be interested in the book that I’ve written called “The Lord of the Hallows: Christian Symbolism and Themes in J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter” which is available at http://stores.alibris.com/SilverUnicornBooks and at http://www.outskirtspress.com/thelordofthehallows. In this book I have made a lot of comparisons between the fiction of both Lewis and Tolkien and that of J. K. Rowling. I have given several lectures on this topic at various conventions, which you can read about on my blog at http://phoenixweasley.wordpress.com.

SQPN fans, Fr. Roderick gave a brief but positive review of my book on “The Secrets of Harry Potter” Episode 48 “The Battle of Hogwarts” very recently. I was thrilled! :)
